Title: need model And value
Post by: Pizza Guy on January 27, 2008, 09:34:41 pm
I just bought a Vendolator square top.  It is 7 ft tall with 13 bottle racks.  I would love to know the model and maybe some sort of value.  My pics are too big for this forum, but I will email it to you if you think you can help.

Thanks a bunch!

I referred Michael (Pizza Guy) here thinking that somebody (maybe Josh) might be able to ID his machine.
Here is the pic sent to me.

Looks like a Vendorlator 117 to me. Is there an ID tag on the side?

Thanks for the help.  No there is no tag on the machine.

I have been trying to find a photo of it online, but everytime I find something close it has 14 slots not the 13 mine has.

A 117 makes sense - usually a machine is named for the number of bottles it holds (not including the precool) - 9 x 13 = 117.
Jim - a VMC 117 is not listed under the Vendorlator section - maybe Pizza Guy would give you all the specifics and a nice pic?

They were usually Pepsi. i bet if you look close you will find some Pepsi blue under there somewhere. Here is one I had a while back

It appears to be a larger version of the VF-154F that is listed in the soda machines section.
If Michael can get a digital photo of the whole machine taken slightly off to one side and send accurate dimensions, I'd be happy to list the model with his permission...

The 117 is basically two VF56's stacked together. The machine is the same width and depth. The cabinet is the same except a lot taller. The shelves are also the same as a 56.

Wow, that's great, thanks for allof the help!  Anyone have an idea of the years it was made?  I was guessing '68-69.

And I guess if this was originally a pepsi machine (although I found no traces of blue) then I really over paid for it at $450?

Thanks again, I look forward to participating in this site now that I have joined the Soda Machine owners association.

First value is in the eye of the beholder. If you like the machine and want to use it then I would say that you didn't over pay however if you bought it to turn around and sell for a profit then yes it was a bad decision. They are really nice machines and very functional. But due to its height they are not really collectible. It might have been Pepsi but it is possible that it is originally Coke.
