Title: OT: Vector Drawing Program Post by: dr galaga on January 20, 2008, 04:10:06 pm This year I want to make a new backglass for my pinball machine. I want to use the original as a template, redraw the art on another layer and have it printed on a piece of plastic (so I guess you could say I'm making a translite).
Does anyone know of a decent vector program that I can get for less than $100? Adobe doesn't seem to make "watered-down" version of Illustrator like they do with Photoshop. Even with my discount, Illustrator ends up being $200. I looked at OpenOffice.org (http://www.openoffice.org) and they have a vector program called Draw. Has anyone tried this before? Dr. G.. Check your pm's Title: Re: OT: Vector Drawing Program Post by: Pixel on January 20, 2008, 11:57:53 pm I've toyed with another vector drawing program, Inkscape. It works pretty good.
It's mainly a Linux program, but you should be able to get it for newer versions of Windows. http://www.inkscape.org/ (http://www.inkscape.org/) I'm stuck with Win98, so I can only use it in Linux. :darn: Title: Re: OT: Vector Drawing Program Post by: dr galaga on January 21, 2008, 05:01:20 pm Win98?
