Title: Early early Vendo Coin Changer
Post by: collecture on January 07, 2008, 02:35:04 pm
Won this on eBay about a month ago - good price, 99.9% complete and had the pole mount plate and wall brackets too.
Could this be the first one made?
This one has a black ID plate serial number is 1100 and the patent numbers are ink stamped on (same patent numbers on both machines) - does anyone know what number the coin changers started at - most of the machines start at 1001 according to the downloadable serial list here at SMC.
Most VCC's that I have owned or seen have the rectangular red ID plate and the A has had a B stamped over it and a decal for the patent (see second pic below).
Anybody have one with this type ID plate? What's your serial number?

Last pic is of the lever - somebody welded an extension onto it, but why? You would have to go to a lot of trouble to do it - pretty much break it all the way down! I can cut it to the right size and put the handle on without much trouble.

Tom,
Not sure... I'll check mine when I get home tonight.
