Title: SMC Calandars Post by: coke_and_stuff on January 04, 2008, 09:52:50 pm Just wanted to see if anyone had a extra SMC Calandar they'd be willing to sell. I was away at work when they came up for sale, and missed the boat. Im guessing a few of my machines were pictured in it? coke_and_stuff@yahoo.com

Title: Re: SMC Calandars Post by: coke_and_stuff on January 05, 2008, 12:05:41 pm You need to find you a 72 or 81 to ship over, Or would a squaretop be better?
Joey Title: Re: SMC Calandars Post by: loman4ec on January 05, 2008, 12:42:50 pm Either way I don't think it would matter. I bet they wouldn't let it into the country unless it didn't have a compressor. Singapore is so weird about old things. All cars must be given back to the Gov't after 10 yeas and the are crushed (except exotics). I don't know if they would allow an old machine with an R12 cooling system installed. I guess I would have to buy one from a friend with the compressor removed and then have the cooling system redone here. Even still I bet the shipping would be more than the cost of the machine, and I don't plan to be here more than another two years I don't think it is worth it. I still have my RC Cola VMC 56 at my Moms's (thanks to you Joey) and my Telechron Coke button clock and a bunch of parts waiting for me at my Moms in storage.
Title: Re: SMC Calandars Post by: MoonDawg on January 05, 2008, 12:58:37 pm If they are that rare over there and you did get one into the country, by
the time you are ready to leave you could probably have a list of potential buyers and make a nice profit. Maybe someone could ship you a Cavalier 72 or 81 compressor in a box, then ship the rest....whole or in parts :happydrinkers: Title: Re: SMC Calandars Post by: cormy on January 05, 2008, 01:20:51 pm Smuggling a soda machine?
Title: Re: SMC Calandars Post by: SIGNGUY on January 05, 2008, 05:27:52 pm I think it was on a M.A.S.H. episode that Someone was smuggling a JEEP home piece by piece in letters and packages to his wife/girlfriend?
If you can't get a whole machine over there, maybe we could take a real Hi res Photo of a nice Restored 81 or 72 and have a Full Size Vinyl Stickers Printed for you that you could apply to the front of your fridge or just on the wall... :glare:  |
