I wandered to Craigslist this morning, not looking for anything particular, and not expecting to find anything. I was wrong .

The title read "1945 Pepsi clock", and i clicked on the link  thinking it was a way over priced repro, or a pile of rust  and gears  that may have been a clock at one time.   I was wrong again. I think I did Ok

Great looking clock!!!!!

I figured I was already out of the running, didn't write the seller until over  an hour and a half after he posted the ad,  but he left me a voice mail. I was the first person to respond,  and though he' had another  15 responses,  he was going to give me first  chance.  I offered to stop by after  work  with cash in hand, and boy did I!

It's a 15" Clock made by Telechronics, not a Pam, but a cool factor on it's own. The clock face  is near mint, vibrant colors no scratches on the face or bubble. It's missing the lamp covers, and  right now the clock mech isn't working,  but i'll  take a look before swapping the  mech. Not sure what I am looking for,  but I'm up for a challenge.

I was always a coke person, but  this was just to cool to pass up.

And here I was feeling sorry  for myself on the lack  of cool finds...

A DD Dot as well. Great find! Looks like 2008 may be a great year.

Thanks all, I am still  feeling geeked over  my find.
and Jim,the seller was awesome.  we hit it off over the phone, maybe  because we're both named Jim.  :biggrin: He even pulled the ad from Craigslist when I said I could be over after work, and  replied back to  the  other offers that  the clock may have been sold. Sure a far cry from losing out on Ebay  when the seller  ends the auction early because they sold it off line.

We got to talking about jukeboxes,   phone booths and pay phones, and then asked if i liked "old cars". When Ireminded him I  lived outside of the motor City, and  missed out on  being driving age during the  Muscle car era, he brightened up and  showed me his man cave.
 A  two story, three car garage with his projects - a completed 1961 Chevy Impala , and a 1963 Impala he is working on to enter in the Detroit Autorama show. Both with original 409's,  i wish I had a camera. 
He's also working on  restoring an Eco Islander, the parts came back from  blasted just the other day, and a Tolkheim  pump picked up in an estate sale.  The stories on how he came about  all of these, as well as  a phone booth for  his payphone were a hoot. I left with an offer to get together for coffee, and he  asked if he could call if he runs across anything cool  I may be interested in.  Of course I  said yes.
So not only did i come across a Double dot clock, I  met someone today who was true to his word,  not out to grab every dollar he could, and  had the some appreciation of "cool stuff" as I, and i imagine a lot of us here.

Bubba - I paid $200. Not sure if I overpaid.  The second hand has a few specks missing in the red (I'm going to leave it be) and if I need a new motor and covers, I am guessing that will be  $75-80. the chrome is clean and shiny, so until I get around to getting ot to tell time, it  will look good  on the wall.  :smile:

Wow !!!  What a great find Jim ,  It sound like you saw some very cool stuff.
So when you get that clock up and running you can bring it up here
and we can hang it on my wall  :glare:  (Just Joking :laugh: ) .

  Great find so when are we running up to Copper Harbor ??
