Regards Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: collecture on December 09, 2007, 11:53:05 am Not really all that unique...sounds like a slider.
Could be unique if there is embossed lettering...can you post a picture? That would help in providing you more information! You can look in the Soda Machines link (upper left) for more info... check under Glasco, Ideal and Cornelius and see if you find it Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: jet99 on December 09, 2007, 02:01:42 pm the pictures are all to large to post here....(or at least thats what it keeps saying each time i try) i would be happy to e-mail you some.
Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: SIGNGUY on December 10, 2007, 12:25:39 pm Just edit the photos so they are under 100k and you can upload or email them to me and i'll edit and post for you.
signguy@cokenstuff.com Sounds like a slider, like said earlier... does it look like something like this, it could be many colors and or brands but this will give us an idea... Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: jet99 on December 10, 2007, 08:29:47 pm its close to that..I will send some pics to the e-mail you have provided...thank you very much for all you help
(I dont know how to edit the photos, not that tech savy!) Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: SIGNGUY on December 11, 2007, 09:43:58 am Here are the photos from Jet99.
The Cooler tag on one photo not attached says Universal Cooler from Barrie Canada. My opionion is it's not as desirable as the Glasco's or Ideals, like I pictured earlier. Same as the square top machines vs a round top... It's probably Mid 60's? but being it's complete with rack...helps it's value. I'd value it the same as a Cornelius slider, which sell for around $80-$100 bucks.. Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: halehouse on December 11, 2007, 11:00:44 am Looks more solid than a Cornelius slider. I kind of like the looks of it. How wide is it?
Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: loman4ec on December 11, 2007, 11:21:34 am It looks to me like the rack and coin mech will fit an ideal or glasco
Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: Pat Pixley on December 11, 2007, 12:09:46 pm Boy that does look like a cornelius the way the body is on that thing
but more heavy duty . Does it get cold and does the coin mech work?? if those work fine I would go $80 - $110 not more it's just not a desirable machine, maybe 10 to 15 years it's stock may go up . It's a great starter machine for some one looking to get there feet wet in this hobby. Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: MoonDawg on December 11, 2007, 08:19:01 pm Sorry if the real value is not what you wanted to hear. :darn:
But even though it is not super valuable....it is unique and thank you for sharing. Can you tell us what is the purpose of the door in the front? Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: jet99 on December 11, 2007, 08:23:34 pm the door in the front opens up to the bottom of the cooler, i think it was to store extra bottles of pop to refil the top rack once it ran low...I think, if anyone knows different please feel free to share
Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: MoonDawg on December 11, 2007, 08:31:55 pm Is there also another door on the side to load the bottles?
Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: jet99 on December 11, 2007, 08:57:09 pm no door on the side
Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: Pat Pixley on December 12, 2007, 11:40:20 am Glen is right it is a unique machine And as long as your
happy with it and it does what you want it to do, That's all that should count. The Money machine's are your round top machines the Sq top machine are come in to play the early 60 Vendo V56/V63 Cavalier 80 Cav64 are the more desired machines . Just my thought's Pat Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: SIGNGUY on December 12, 2007, 01:46:04 pm Like Pat said, as long as you like it.. that is what counts..
I'd be curious as how you load it the bottles into it without a side loading door? does the top hinge, or what? There is gotta be a way to load the bottles? how do you do it? Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: jet99 on December 12, 2007, 05:13:11 pm you load the machine by opening the top, if you look at the pictures, the one where the lid is open over to the right you can release a bar and when that bar is out you can slide the bottles in, when you want one out you slide the bottles over to the left towards the coin mech insert you coin (a quater by the way) the bottle is released...
i love the machine, i would never part with it, I was hoping it was really valuable and unique is all... Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: SIGNGUY on December 12, 2007, 05:19:52 pm Ok, I get it now... most older slider machines have a an access door on the side that you would open to load the bottles, hence why I asked.
enjoy the cooler, that is the most important part... sorry it's not as valuable as you hoped... but hang onto it, take care of it and someday it will mature in value just like all this stuff has. Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: jet99 on December 12, 2007, 06:23:21 pm it makes a great conversation piece...thanks for all the comments
Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: jet99 on December 12, 2007, 06:26:15 pm the best part of the cooler is I got it for nothing, it was in a older couples basement for the past dozen years, they wanted it out and asked me to get rid of it, i told them it may be valueable they told me they did not care it was time for it to go...so now my family enjoys it!
Title: Re: unique coke machine Post by: cormy on December 13, 2007, 01:31:01 pm As your collection grows (which it probably will) this is a good conversation piece since it is different from the usual machines that most of us have. Regardless of its value.
