On a ideal 55 if the lower lines frost almost back to the compressor , is this a sign of a over charger or under charge? :help:

if the machines system hsn't been tampered with or serviced lately, it could a undercharge situation, are there any signs that the system was serviced ( tap-valves added, or a new filter-dryer added to the lines, etc.) or HAVE you had the system serviced latley? it may also be a restriction in the line(s).

so what happened when?

I just had it recharged after pulling the lines and liner out . Recharged it to 9oz like the unit said. Some one has put a valve on it at one time.

Ah yes, I had a system recharged one time and the frost
built up way too low on the line. So we let a little freon out and it performed
fine from then on.

I slowly let out some freon until I couldn't see the frost build up on the line anymore . I hope not to much  :hopefull: It's cooling just fine ,problem solved so far. Thanks
