Title: My buy from the Chicago Show
Post by: Eric on November 24, 2007, 09:03:20 pm
Couldn't afford anything from the show... though that Nesbitt's cooler would have been
SWEET!!!!! (See Signguys photos from the show in the gallery)
I did pick up a 1940s Victor V gumball machine with stand in the show... Super clean inside
for a $125.00
Then on the way home I about wrecked after spotting a Quikold standard in front of a Antique
store..... but after all the dust cleared I noticed it wasn't embossed
So we went inside looked around and I asked “How much for the cooler outside?” it didn't
have a price on it so they went through a list of the items that were out front and one of the workers said “Here it is...$12.50”
I said $12.50?  Yep- He said I walked one of the ladies out to be sure and she said yeah that's the only cooler out here... I said sold! It's not the greatest shape the base being the worse. but the lids are solid with no rust and the sides, front and back panels just have surface rust. the base not having casters is the worst.... don't know how it would be after blasting... but after I complete my Nichol Kola junior I'll have a extra pair of junior sides so I may “Frakenstein” a non-embossed
Orange Crush cooler out of it... or may keep it a standard depending on how good the parts are.
Anyway.... not much.... but for 12 bucks why not.....

Heck of a buy, I dont think I have every heard of one selling that low.  If you decide that you do not need those lids and want to sell them let me know.

Ha- yeah just now getting around to taking pictures... have the Nichol Kola cooler all taken
apart and the “Doner” cooler all apart so I was taking “before” pictures on that so I decided that I need to get these taken too.... Need to get it (Nichol Kola) to the welder and get a few parts
like the cap catcher and support arm made... will keep you all up to date on the progress
on that cooler... My winter project...

Isn't that something. You go to a big show with all those hundreds of items for sale and you end up buying something on the way home out of a place along the way! What does that tell ya :glare:
