Title: Markito Lives! Talked with him today
Post by: SIGNGUY on September 26, 2007, 03:42:48 pm
I just purchased a V56 machine off ebay the other day from NONE other than the Long Lost Markito...
I am going to pick it up on Friday.. Looks as if he is clearing out his collection and maybe getting out of the hobby... I'll get more details on Friday when I see him...
Just thought I'd pass that along to everyone who knew him here.

Make sure when you go to pick it up, you put something on top of the machine as you look it over!

If memory serves me, he has a pretty nice, all-red unrestored Vendo 110 amongst other things.

That is to bad that he may be getting out of the hobby
It is good that you heard from him

Let him know we still need him to stop in from time to time.
so he can keep a eye on our machines ,make sure  were not putting
thing on top of them  .

Besides inspiring the invention of the Kito-mat, he had a great
sense of humor, he could find a joke within almost any situation we got
ourselves into!

I had the chance to hang out with him on a few occasions when I was staying in Minneapolis. He is a really nice guy but his wife HATED Coke machines. Then one day he just disappeared and he wouldn't even answer my phone calls or emails. I really wonder what happened.

We'll... got back from Minneapolis a few hours ago with some great new finds I'll share more later when I have more time... but met up with Mark (Markito) and unfortunatly due to some other commitments We didnt' get to visit long! NICE GUY!!  I did pass along everyones hello's and comments and he said he missed checking in and something about his User Id getting lost? Jim can we check on that?... but says he's been busy and just hasn't dedicated much time to the hobby as of late.. but assured me he would check in someday and yes someday he'll be back in the HUNT for more coin op stuff... He still has a nice stash of pinballs and video games and slots so the BUG has not left him yet!..
he says hi and hopefully will check in with us again soon....
Also per someones post early... the first thing I did was grab some stuff he had laying around and place it ever so gently on TOP of the Vendorlater 56 I bought from him.. I'll have the photos downloaded soon and will post!

If you decide to part that 72 out I need a cooling unit and one shelf.

I would be interested in the front door of the C72 I have a complete machine with a junk door. So I either need to find a door or sell the rest.

Nice finds by the way. The 56 looks clean and I really like that candy machine. What brand is it?

The 56... is the the original colors? I have a 56 with the same sign, but when I got it it was all white and said Nehi on the sides..

Nice looking stuff you got there..

something about his User Id getting lost?

Okay, the cat's a little out of the bag...Earlier this year his info was purged due to his inactivity and not responding to a purging email.  Every year-or-so Juim does some house cleaning and inactive members get a notice to reply to.  He never replied so the system got rid of him.  I set him back up (with his old post count) and he said that he was going to pop in and surprise everyone...but that was about 4 months ago.  If he doesn't get active soon, he'll drop out of the Posting Top Ten.

I'll let him know if I talk with him again about loggin in...

The cav 72 is only the shell and a few parts... no cooling unit, no bottle stack, no coin door, no mech, pretty much the shell and a few shelves... not sure what I'll do with it yet?

Terry, shipping to you I'm sure would be a mint? PM and we'll see if we can work something out on the door? You going to Chicago or know someone who is?

I posted about the Candy Machine in another post on Other coin ops... it's called a U-Need-A merchandiser, not sure if that's the brand or manufacturer..

shipping on that front door shouldnt be to bad from experience Ive shipped Vendo 39, 80, 81, and 110 doors in the past. Usually around $75.00 UPS Ground.

If you decide to part it I need one shelf.

A Cavalier 72 bottle stack is easy to make. Cut down a C-96
 or taller, square-corner bottle stack.
