I've had these alot on my craigslist postings, but never on an ebay BIN ... that sucks... cause it takes your item off the market and you get zapped with end of auction fees, (Which I'm sure ebay will refund, but what a hassle...) wonder how they will combat this one?

Oh yea. The "I am sending you the cashier check and you send me back the extra funds" is a big danger flag. Why would anyone think that someone is sending them extra $ so that you can send the extra back to them?  Plus, for being from the UK, his use of the English language is pretty poor.

These guy's really p$^ss me off. Everyone of my Craigslist ads I get several of these. Tell him that shipping will be a million bucks and see if he will send you a M.O. for that much. If so frame it and hang it on the wall. That's pretty much all it will be good for.

I can't believe that anyone would fall for that - the word has been out for some time...  I agree with Terry, get the idiot to send you one heck of a check, and hang it on the trophy room wall........

Most of these scammers have only been a member for a few days just like this idiot! They do their thing then move on to a new user name.

When you communicate with e-bay, can you suggest requiring members to have a feedback before they can use B.I.N.?

I know a guy who actually recieved a money order in the mail from overseas.
He took it to the bank and verified that it really was counterfiet.

That could have been me! Long time members here may recall that I recieved a 6500.00 M.O. from one of these knuckleheads when the scams first started. Everything just seemed too fishy about the transaction and even my bank manager tried to tell me that the check was good. I begged her to call the bank on which the funds were drawn on and only then it was varified that it was a bogus check.
