Post by: SIGNGUY on August 17, 2007, 03:19:08 pm
We've all seen these and have talked about the Internet scams out there, particularly on Craigslist... Guys who want to send you a money order for more than the amout asked for and they don't want to inspect the item and want you to cash it and send difference to some shipping...
Anyway... I posted some stuff on my local Craigslist yesterday and got this email this morning from this guy.
First off, learn the language of the person your trying to scam...
Secondly, If you think people are still falling for this... go back where you came from..

Hmmm....from Arizona, Glendale Hts, IL address and a phone number that was originally from Mar Vista, CA (but with number portability...).
What wrong with it?  Seems fine to me! (http://www.brentsarcade.com/smilies/idunno.gif)        :tounge:

The sad fact is that if they send out a 1000 e-mails like this a day
they will snag one person.

I had some dealings with an old lady who had been told she had won the lottery. They managed to swindle $500,000 out of her before we could put a stop to it.

There are some great websites out there where people take on the scammers and play them at their own game. Getting them to dress up in silly outfits or make really expensive items.

Got any links to these scammer sites? I've come across a few in the past and they are funny as heck, but haven't seen any in awhile..

This is becoming one of the oldest in the book. Hard to believe people still fall for it...
