Title: Ideal Venders Limited - Model 500
Post by: brasskey on June 25, 2007, 01:41:12 pm
A buddy gave this to me recently.  He said it worked before it was abandoned.  It has been outside so there is rust, but there is a brand new compressor in an additiontal box.  I would like to fix it up and use it but I've never restored one.  I wanted to know the approximate value so I don't get too much money in it.  As far as the parts go (gaskets, locks, etc.) is Funtronics the way to go?  Thanks for the help.

Those who collect machines here would not spend more than $50 on it. It's not collectible and there's no demand. They are huge. It dosen't mean that it's not useful to you or that it wouldn't make a great cooler for your garage.

I wouldn't buy it for an investment item... but for the garage or porch (if you have room) and it was free... then not bad I guess.
Good luck

I had a Ideal 300 once and it was huge, I can't imagine the 500 is any bigger.  Ended up selling this machine for $100.00.  Agreed if you have the room it's good, but very large.
