Yeah, i admit it, it was only her looks that got to me. I bid a best offer, thinking I went was way too low, it was listed once on Ebay, and pulled, why I watched it was more because it was local enough where the shipping wouldn't run double the cost of a bid.
I swear to this day, I panicked. Someone already put in a best offer, minutes before I looked again. I wasn't going to let someone get it, though I haven't a clue on what it would take to get her in pristine condition , darn it, who cares if it wasn't my first, second, heck, prolly not even in my top 30 choices.
So less than 3 minutes after submitting my bid, thinking , cool it's out of my system, i made a bid, it will be refused,
I 'll move on, I got a reply, my offer was accepted.
Yeah. So hopefully this weekend, I'll be picking up my 1952 Rockola 1436. K, trying to find a new place to live, borrwed Dad's garage and adding more stuff to store there is out of the question ( though I did get him some nice shirts for Father's day, I don't think I can push my luck , or that I should try)
It works, so the seller says, a few quirks I think we can fix, cosmetically, some new veneer, and polish. Oh yeah, the cracked bubble dome top, and pilasters? Seems no one repops them, so this summer may be a lesson in making a mold of the existing pieces.
It may all turn out good, and maybe I'll get excited actually being in it's presence, and I can cross jukebox of my list of must have for the "one day my game room will have" list ,but at this moment, I'm thinking I let the thrill of the hunt blind me and panic me.
Parents, tell your children, not to do what I have done....
<oooh, need to find The Animals on a '45,.. hmmm, maybe it will all work out....>

Still working on it. Justed finished the conversion from 78 to 45 rpm. I will post some pictures soon.

Dave, I paid $700 USD, his original asking prices was $1100. Seller says it was working when he brought it home, but may have jarred a few connections in the move, the record selector stopped rotating, coin box doesn't accept coins, etc, but it does play. And the graphics, combined with an exposed turntable was tre' kewl.
Matt - thanks for the tip about Victory, I've written a few parts shops, but always got a negative response.

It happens.. before you know it, the dust settles and you bought your self something you not to sure you wanted. Then on top of it, your thinking... did I pay to much? That's a double whammy... I myself am getting better self control in matters such as this, takes a little time to acquire it..

The story continues:
Picked up the jukebox last week. She's not as chrome and lights cool as a Seeburg, but has a cool look, at least I think so.
within 20 minutes, we figured out the problem with the selector unit, popped in a few 45's, ran an extension cord to the trailer, and jammed. My friend who helped pick it up is chomping at the bit to go over the mechs and electrical, and I get to decide if I can live with the zebra style veneer. Yeah, I'm the one who argues on keeping things as close to original
Not the best pics, those came out with the wrist strap down the middle
but I can say now, npo regrets

I've read jukebox collector threads that the ferris wheel record spidle was the worst idea ever, but darn it's cool to watch...
The panels were removed to access the mechs, other than the coin mech, and the seller misplaced the key, it was complete. Here 'She's not There' by the Zombies is about to be loaded on the turntable

Thats pretty cool! ... Nice catch.. I like that ferris wheel style, but I can see where there may be some issues with it..

I think its a lovely jukebox.
You are right about the ferris wheel. However, I think that out of all the makes this is the truest visable play.
Just a Wurly, AMI & Seeburg to go then...
