Here are a few pictures of 2 customers' machines that I had done the refrigeration for. Have a look...let me know what you think!...Low resolution sucks...doesn't do it justice. Oh well...

They look great Eric!
Does the V-110 have a fan shroud on the condensing coils...?

Bam a Lam, Creighton!

Yes Jim, a metal shroud with engine turn swirls, base and top shroud too. Can't see it though... too much frost on the evap. coil.

Same on Mr. DP machine.

Eric, can you refresh me or the group or PM if you'd like...
What do you get for a brand new system, or to rework a system?
or is is a case by case basis... just curious as I love your work!!

Eric,

Only one word to describe your work - WOW!

I also like how you have the wiring very accessible and neatly tied off.

Okay, I guess this was more than one word, but BAM A LAM, man.

Bam a Lam...Wayne!

Yeah, I guess it wouldn't be right, if I didn't show everyone that I also use my own product! Not bad for an old "compressor jockey"... everything literally being hand made and hand bent to fit all of the different machines.

Thanks Guys.   :)

That really is great work.  What kind of plate are you using to mount the compressor unit on?

Title: new systems
Post by: globalcompressors on June 17, 2007, 06:15:47 pm
I have been using 16ga galvanized.  Same as what was on the original machines. I try to build these units, as close as I can to original, so everything lines up the way it's supposed to. Remember, everything I do, is all custom, hand made...plates, shrouds, copper tubing, etc., trying for as many of the boxes and chests that were made....and that's a bunch!

Hey Eric... nice looking machines... On that 56... was the deck mounted sideways like that originally, or is that an upgrade? My 56's and 63's all have the condenser facing forward...

The 63 is supposed to face forward, copper right-center. The 56, square and round corner, is sideways, condenser right, with the copper coming thru the left side.

Hey Eric,
Found this. Those were the days. Looks like that is Keith Richards trying to keep standing to the left of the lead singer/guitar player. Whatever happened to Ram Jam anyway?
Crank it up and Enjoy,

Pretty cool Buddy...Thanks!

I'm not sure what happened to the band. In fact, I can't remember
if there were any other popular songs on the radio by them. Maybe
just a "flash in the pan" or a "one hit wonder" who knows.

It was done by others, so that says something about the
song itself...what, 30-35 years +...

Crank it up and rip off the knob !!!!

Pat,

I wish I could take credit for the machines themselves. I only did the refrigeration. You want to see before and after on  the assembly of the new systems? I can do some photos of that I guess. I'll see what I can do.

Eric...Bam a Lam!   :D

/Topic off

I have a recording  of Black Betty done by the blues/folk singer Leadbelly,  recorded in 1948-49 ( to lazy to walk across the room to the CD cabinet) so contrary to the  noise when it came out, it's not about speed, heroin or a prostitute.
The lead guitarisist in  of Ramjam was in a band called the Lemon Pipers,  anyone remember 'Green Tambourine'?

Eric, I've heard nothing but the best on your work, your advice and  your craftsmanship, thank you for showing that the kudos  are very much earned

Now if i can get off my lazy behind  and  build a box to send my Vendo jr compressor to you for a restore.

Bam a lam!

Out of interest, do you have to hand make the coils or do they come pre-assembled ?

Awesome work you have done there!  :D

No, all of the "hard parts", compressors, motors,
stat...etc. and the coils are all purchased. I bought Vendo's remaining obsolete coil stock which has lasted about 2 years.

I just received my shipment, yesterday, of brand new manufactured coils. I sent a couple of samples and had them reproduced, the condenser as well as the evaporator coils...not cheap!

All the sheet metal, shrouds, base plates, copper tubing configuration, wiring harness setup, and hand assembly... are all mine, no employees.

I try to do my best for you guys. I've read, that I'm not cheap, but when you see all that goes into it, you know why. I have to build in profit and make a living. This IS my full time gig and not just a hobby.

Here's some more pics.

Eric   :)

Wow that's pretty darn cool !  I don't mind paying for quality myself..  you get what you pay for in my opinion..
