Post by: Seven181 on June 12, 2007, 05:56:32 pm Congrads! I just had my first child, a baby girl in March! It is new and exciting! I have had to give up some things, but not the soda stuff yet!!!! Love them everyday and treat her like you would your boy, she will love it! I have mine already set to help in the garage with soda stuff, as soon as she can walk and talk!

We have two boys, but wanted a mix like you. The boy will be a good school guardian over the girl - keep her away from the bad boys. Look out now - mom has a shopping partner! Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Post by: halehouse on June 12, 2007, 08:41:38 pm Congratulations!
Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Post by: aspbear1 on June 12, 2007, 09:31:03 pm We raised three boys and a girl. They are all married now and have children of their own but I will tell you my girl was truly special. The bond between a mother and son is strong but I believe that the bond between a daughter and father is just as strong. My daughter when she was small was quicker to help me in the shop than the boys and would generally help me with any project I was working on, although it just might have been reading the instructions on how to put something together. You are truly blessed to have a daughter and a son enjoy both, you will not believe how quick they will be going out the door. congratulations....
Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Post by: Eric on June 12, 2007, 09:45:17 pm Congrats! We have two boys then had a little girl...She is now 2
and already questions my choice of shoes and clothes. Ha! She loves shopping with her mommy and taking her brothers Star Wars Lego men and hiding them. I'm 42... so having 2 older brothers that are 3 and 7 years older will come in handy when the boys start showing up.. they'll think a “old man” then I'll call the boys up from their nightly weight training regime in the basement and they'll give the boy the house rules! Well... that's the plan anyway..... You'll treat her better than any of them.... She'll be the princess... Mine loves chewing gum.. so I guess all the gum/candy machines will go to her.... Again congratulations on your daughter... What a blessing.... Now get off the computer and help the wife so she can get some sleep! (Experience talking here.) Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Girls or boys, the road is the same... Love 'em, teach/expose them to everything you can, have fun until they get older and then help them to make good decisions in life because one day, they'll make you proud ! ! ! Until that day comes, have fun and be sure to document the family as everyone grows up... May many daddy hugs embrace you in the road ahead... Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Post by: bubba on June 13, 2007, 05:46:44 am Congrats Gumbo.... Having kids that close is awesome as well. I've got 2 boys less than 2 years apart, and they pal around, watch out for each other, but are totally different. Friends of ours have a boy and girl about the same time apart, and the boy is very protective of his little sister. Its awesome. The first couple of years are tough with little ones close together, but it does get easier.
Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Post by: davethebirdman on June 13, 2007, 07:01:21 am I've got a boy aged 6 and a girl aged 3 (going on 30).
Before my little girl was born I could believe that I could ever share the love I had for my little boy with anyone else and I was really worried. The bond between a father and his little Princess is massive. Whilst I absolutely love my boy my little girl can get away with so much more than he ever could. Boys grow up and go off in the world. Girls hang around and are there forever. Good luck mate.... Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Title: Baby #2- A girl- HELP!! Post by: jasmine64 on June 14, 2007, 03:04:13 pm Dont be surprised when she wants you to lay on the floor and let her paint your face with all the makeup she can carry when she gets about 5.
Yes she will want to "fix " your hair, paint your nails and of course throw a screamin hissy fit when you wont let her. She will rub your feet if you let her paint your toenails first just make sure you have nail polish remover around. Be patient they move on to electronics around 6. Invest in lots of board games my dd (dear daughter) loved them and she actually likes playing dominos. She's a master at Madden football video game. Give her the tv remote occasionaly and I bet she will stop on qvc or hsn. Girls at the young age do not like getting dirty, once they start walking they will run to you with their hands out to wipe off any dirt that gets on them. My dd is still a tomboy after 17 years she loves horses, deer hunting, video games, 4x4 trucks, anything john deere, lab puppies, 4 wheelers and most of all duck hunting. BUT she will max out her pay check in a heart beat for a dress, shoes and makeup for a dance or special occasion. And the peer pressure starts around 5th grade for girls. They try to out do each other way before jr high. They do get their feelings hurt really easy. if you can give her her own bathroom, put a cd player in it and leave her alone. I found out quick that my dd's early morning showers go so much easier when she has her music on and no one beating on the door. Just wait soon she will have you wrapped around her little finger. |
