Gang,

Here are some of my machines. A few guys have been asking to see them. Just got around to moving some of them around and taking pics.

Brian,  that's a very nice collection. It's nice to see something other than Coca-Cola all the time.

That's what I noticed.  The "Ouch..." slogan.  That is pretty cool.  Your machines look nice. Where do you have them in those pics?
I have a flange sign around here somewhere with the "It likes you" slogan.
I haven't had it hanging in a while.

Thanks guys! I have some really old 1930's signs! I have all my machines in my basement, as I just moved to Kansas from San Antonio. I have all my signs and light up signs in storage. I will post more soon.

So nice to see new colors. Are the S&S coolers the same except
for casters and logo? Any idea what years they were introduced?

I agree, nice to see other than coca cola and pepsi. I wish I could specialize in the thing or brand, I'm all over the place.
I really like that VMC 81, maybe the best looking of the 81's.
HOW DID YOU COME ABOUT IT?

Brian,

What does it take for a local to get a guided tour?

Hi Guys! I have been collecting for about 14 years. I worked for Dr Pepper / Seven Up for 14 years! Just left them last December and now work for Colgate / Palmolive in sales and marketing. As far as the S&S coolers, they are early 1940's. Both original and both with the original signs. I did paint the "Ouch out of grouch" cooler.

As far as the 81, it is all original. I just bought that a few months ago from a guy in CA. It has the original paint and logo's on the side. Clean as can be inside and out. Still runs and gets cold like you would not believe! It is 100% the real deal and have never seen a 50 year old machine look better.

Tours are avaiable anytime Frank! Come on over! I have a ton of signs, lights, clocks and the like. So much so, that I am thinking of opening up a 7up museum. The only machines I am missing in my collection that I know of are a VMC 88 Embossed and VMC 149 Embossed. If anyone ever sees those machines, let me know!

I really want to, but have to find the right building and get the start up $$$ to do so. I know it would take off. I have the stuff to do so! If you have ever been to the Dr Pepper musuem in Waco, mine would be similar.

Outstanding collection!!! If the Vendo building in KC is still standing that would be cool place for a museum. Thanks for the photos.

Hey! Great idea. I wonder if the Vendo place is still up? I need to track down the old addres, anyone have it? I was thinking of opening the museum in St. Louis though, home of 7up.

Finding a building along the old route 66 would be awesome....
you could display and have a walk through area...then have a gift shop
full of Soda machines, pumps for sale, sell soda merchandise... sure there's enough guys here than could help you stock it... you could be the midwest Vintage Vending :;):

That would be awesome! Getting the funding to start up is where I am at. No doubt I have enough 7up stuff to start a musuem.

The Vendo Company address listed in a 1953 V-144 service manual is:
The Vendo Company
7400 East 12th Street
Kansas City 26, MO.
Not sure what the 26 means, but that is the way it was printed.
BTW - nice collection.
I almost bid against you on that ST81 (Palm Springs), but I had too much going on at the time.
It was before you joined here.
