Joey Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: loman4ec on April 21, 2007, 09:45:35 pm What a great collection. One of my Dads friends has a 57 el morroco convert. It is one of three made. It is the black model that was used for the advertisements. It is a great looking car. He has been offered $250,000 for it and turned it down. Also in your pics is a 57 chev 150 black widdow. It is the #57 race car in your pics. My Dad's friend also has the only 100% complete origional Black widow. There are several out there but none of them have the correct fuel tank. He has the only one. They were made for the NASCAR circuit. They were the first fuel injection car for NASCAR. They ran away will all of the races. Shortly after NASCAR banned fuel injection and restricted the carberator to 650 CFM. That is still the way it is today. Thank you for the pic Joey.

Does anyone know of anything (anything remotely) like this near Olrando. I could dump the kids & the wife for a couple of days (maybe a week) at Disney and spend the whole time in a place like this. Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: MoonDawg on April 24, 2007, 11:17:44 am What was a Morocco? Looks like a 57 Chevy from the
front, was this a test market vehicle? Also is that a special Elvis edition Cadillac? Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: coke_and_stuff on April 24, 2007, 04:24:03 pm The El Morocco was built by millionaire Ruben Allender in Detroit. It was a car built to offer Cadillac Eldorado styling at half the price, the venture was short lived and only arund 20 cars were built.
The purple Cadillac is a Eldorado Biarritz convertible, it was one of Cadillacs highest end cars of the year, about $2k more than a de ville. These cars today are extremely rare and a ground up restoration on one would cost over $100k in todays market. The back bumpers on the car pictured cost over $5k to get rechromed. It sure does beat the hell out of my Series 62 two door hardtop. Joey Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: loman4ec on April 24, 2007, 08:56:04 pm Yep your right. It is just a chevy made to look like a caddy. It was even nicknamed the poor mans cadillac. They made the El Morrocco in 1956 and 57. The 57 is a more popular car. They only made three converts. They are slick looking. Something cool about them is the side stainless is actually from a 1957 searay boat.
Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: loman4ec on April 24, 2007, 09:09:22 pm Here is an origional pic of my friends car. His is was the only black convert made and was used for all of the advertising.
Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: Creighton on April 24, 2007, 09:47:17 pm Thanks for the pics!!
Joey nothing wrong with your series 62 (well the front left looks a little low) :-) Great car. Is the purple orginal? I thought it was black in the pics when you first got it. Going to mom and dads 50th wedding anniversary July 6th in KS. Told them about the museum and since they were married in 57 they want to go to Branson. We should all try and get together. Creighton Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: coke_and_stuff on April 25, 2007, 05:26:51 am Car is originally a dark blue with a light blue painted top, You let me know when and i'll be there Creighton.
Joey Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: loman4ec on April 25, 2007, 05:37:45 am Joey that really is a killer caddy. When are you going to start working on it?
Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: coke_and_stuff on April 25, 2007, 06:22:15 am Im actually leaving Sunday to pick up a 4 door '57 Fleetwood I bought for parts, I've also located a '58 two door that would also make a good parts car. Ive bought a few odds and ends, but plan on getting serious very soon. It honestly needs everything and will be a long time before back on the road. Thanks for posting pictures of that El Moracco, Its not the one that was found in MO a few years back is it?
Joey Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: coke_and_stuff on April 25, 2007, 06:38:16 am Heres a few more pictures of my '57 It needs floors, drivers side fender "parts car has a nice one" Possibly the drivers door again '58 parts car" and a little bit of everything else.
Joey Title: 57 Heaven Branson, MO Post by: loman4ec on April 25, 2007, 06:46:28 am It is definately rough but it doesn't look too bad. That will be a fun project. The el morocco if I remember correctly was found in Texas. It was a complete basket case. It had been painted yellow and was in terrible shape. Even in this condition our friend had to be interviewed several times before he would sell it to him. This was about 10 to 12 years ago. Now it lives in a climate controlled garage with several other rare cars. He also has the #1 serial number 55, 56, 57 corvette and several origional 57 chevy fuel injected convertables as well as that only complete black widdow. And siting behind the 55 vette is an RC VMC81
