Title: vendo 126 Post by: zadd on April 09, 2007, 05:57:32 am Thanks man The pics don't do it justice, It was strip down completely and painted inside and out,and painted with Glasurit ceramic scratch resistant clear.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: audiobeer on May 05, 2007, 12:23:45 pm Zadd, I didn't know you went through all that trouble. If I were in your shoes I'd sit on it rather than sell it for the money I suggested.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: zadd on May 05, 2007, 02:33:21 pm So what sould I sell it for? I'm trying to get into the 50's machine and want to unload this to buy a vendo 110 or 81 to restore.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: audiobeer on May 05, 2007, 03:47:19 pm If I were in your shoes I'd Ebay it and put a $1K to $1200 reserve. You won't get it though unless your willing to assist buy crating and running to a shipper like Forward Air
Title: vendo 126 Post by: MoonDawg on May 05, 2007, 04:11:53 pm (zadd @ Apr. 08 2007,7:55) QUOTE What's it worth Sure wish you would have asked us that question BEFORE you proceeded to dump a ton of money and time into painting such a large and heavy machine. I hate to say this.....but you are going to be real dissappointed with what it sells for. On the other hand......it was good practice for the 81 you will be doing next. Nice, nice paint finish! Title: vendo 126 Post by: zadd on May 05, 2007, 04:31:50 pm Yea it was my first machine. And at the time I wanted to restore it for my basement. Now I'm hooked and want to have and older coke machine. I'm currently restoring a 7up ideal 55. But like I said I would also like to have a vendo 110 or 81. If I can get 6 or 7 hundred out of this machine it will help in the restore of another.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: zadd on May 05, 2007, 04:37:10 pm PS: I do paint work for a living and I had a body man at work make a new pan and weld it in for me. I only have $500 in it plus time.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: johnieG on May 05, 2007, 05:52:49 pm Yea, a V110 would be as big as most people will buy a "round-top"
Remember one of the top rules of soda machines, "bigger isn't better" big machines are neat if you're collecting, but as a re-sale item, they're slow to move, mainly because most folks don't have the room to put it into their basements...let alone get it down a flight of stairs. but it looks very nice I'll say! Title: vendo 126 Post by: sodaworks on May 05, 2007, 10:14:10 pm If you want to replace the trim before selling try the plastic chrome trim. I would also list it on your local Craigslist.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: sodaworks on May 05, 2007, 10:15:15 pm By the way Zadd. Nice job. It looks great.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: zadd on May 05, 2007, 10:48:35 pm Hey thanks guy's. Not to bad for my first machine, it was a lot of fun and a great conversation piece. Now I would like to go all out on a better machine.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: zadd on May 06, 2007, 09:33:17 am This machine might make a great fathers day gift or birthday for him.
Title: vendo 126 Post by: audiobeer on May 06, 2007, 09:41:14 am This hobby is like an on & off addiction of sorts. When I started in the hobby I bought what ever looked cool and different. I ended up with a lot of machines that were big and without replacement parts. I hung around here where Jim as well as JG were really helpful when I first came here as for as repairing what I kept. One thing I have learned was that impulse buying has cost me a lot of money......I'm sure it has a lot of us. The flip side is that I have learned a lot from my mistakes. I love this hobby. To bad you don't have room to mothball this baby!
Title: vendo 126 Post by: zadd on May 06, 2007, 09:48:07 am I do , I just hate to have something in good working order and looks so good and not use it.

There is no law that says you can't use more than one machine... In the summer, I have 3 running machines... Title: vendo 126 Post by: Addiction on May 07, 2007, 05:17:58 pm I'm new to this but I'd have to agree. It seems teh bigger a machine is the harder it is to sell. I watched a number on craigs, the paper, and ebay be listed time and time again. If you have the space for it you may be better off simply keeping it, maybe give it to a very good friend or relative as a present.
