Hi Guys

Machines over here don't come up very often... I found this.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....ck=true

What do you think?? Its only about an hour from me. I have asked for more pictures.

Just looked at the machine section and it isn't on the top of everyone's list.

Can they be adapted for can.

Dave

Hey Dave!!
My first restoration was a Vendo 144.  Bloody large and heavy monsters but I still have a soft spot for them.  I remember your question about cans coming up before.  I believe you can run cans but may need to use a two-by-four in the back of the rack to take up the space the cans leave (being shorter than bottles).  Several guys said they had to shave the rollers down to properly vend the cans, others said they had no problems with the rollers, so I guess it's try-and-see.  I've wanted to find another one, preferebly with the later version of the "Refresh Yourself" sign, silkscreened on pexiglass and set up LEDs behind the sign wired into the vend circuit so that it would light up during the vend cycle (much like the "red spot" on the Cavalier CS-72 and 96 models).

By the way, your Bobby still holds the place of honor in my house and I get to tell the story alot.  My shipmates are all pretty jealous!!  I'm still trying to find a way to slip a coke machine onboard if/when we make a trip to the U.K.

Dave,
I finally got the link to open to see the bohemoth.......you've got to go after this one!!  It's a multi-brand Vendo 144.  Most of the 144's were only single brand machines.  This one is the three-selection model and a somewhat of a rarity.  Still not terribly collectible but alot more fun to have.  If you have any questions, ask away!  I can generally wander around the guts of these monsters blindfolded!

Hi Ya Eric

Nice to see you are back with us for a while.... My wife has sort of vetoed the machine at the moment, but, well you just never know... She might come around. There are still a couple more days.

She points out that I still have a Jacobs that needs life in it as well as a couple of other bits. My answer is "Well what's one more machine." At that point the frying pan comes out.

Watch this space..

:D  Oh Dave......you need more stuff  :D

I had a guy stop in my store last week, said he shipped a Vendo 44 and some 39's and some NOS porcelin signs to Zuerich
Switzerland over 20 years ago, hoping to sell them. They still sit
in his brother's warehouse as they have no knowledge of where to market them. All I got was his Calif. phone #.
P.M. me if want it but don't tell Mrs Bird ..........she may put a contract out on me!  :help:

Glen

I'll PM you now... As for the contract as she's your way (Well half way)  in a few weeks she'd probably do the sting herself.
