Title: Pepsi 88 Non-Embossed Value
Post by: Seven181 on March 18, 2007, 01:47:57 pm
Hello! Can anyone tell me what this machine is worth? I have my eye on it, but do not want to over pay for it? I was hoping it was embossed, but it is not. I am thinking of jumping on it. What is the value on a non-embossed 88?

Thanks!

Brian

I'm willing to bet there was never a VMC 88 that was not embossed.  If it were a Pepsi 88. or rarer yet.....a Coke 88 the embossed letters were pretty wide and could not be hidden under that 1960's Pepsi plastic sign.

That means that either the letters were ground flat and filled ..........................................................or that plastic sign is hiding a 7 up logo  :hopefull:

Glen,

They pulled the sign off and no logo of any kind. The tag says VMC 88. I am assuming this is a non-embossed 88 machine. Did they ever make a non-embossed machine?

I'd ask if they could take off the sign and take a photo for you... they may have said they did and there's nothing under there just so they wouldn't have to... I'd get a picture before I bought it...  I bought mine for $600 but it
was local...

Good call Josh.
Brian, that machine should be well worth $500.
Use a magnet to determine there is no bondo in the letters area
