My understanding (since I do not own a 44) is that originally the 44 only vended the 6 1/2 oz. bottles. The columns may need to be shimmed up in order to vend the 8 oz. bottles available today as they are not the same diameter.
Somebody repops a rack that will vend cans.

Tom's right! the new coke bottle's are a little smaller in diameter. Cut you 4 strips of 1/8" plexiglass and attach one to each sida wall of the bottle stack. This will eliminate the bottles from sliding thru the bottle gates.

Terry, Could you be a little more specific on the strip placement since I need to do this to my VMC-44, have not had greatest luck with the new bottles, they tend to jam up in it. I've given up "home bottling".

Sure, Buy you some lexan or plexiglass in 1/8" thickness. Cut you four pieces that will line the four sides of the bottle stack ( two in each stack). The sizes will be the width x length of the stack. Mount the pieces so the the lexan is all the way down on the sides of the bottle rockers. This will "shim" 1/4" of thickness so that the bottles will not fall through the rockers.
