This one is a Marvin?.... Needs to be cleaned can't read it all... But I thought it was a good deal.... And will look cool over my barber chair... (Barber or Barbor) Hmmm... anyway..... Anyone ever mess with one? Didn't collecture or Signguy go to an auction a little while back for 2 poles?.... Title: Barber Pole Post by: Eric on March 01, 2007, 08:10:24 pm Hmmm... try this one

Title: Barber Pole Post by: collecture on March 01, 2007, 09:20:50 pm Great Job!
The William Marvy Company is still in business. Willaim Marvy Co. website They sell everything you might need to get it looking good - glass, motors, striped paper insert... There were two type motors - A & B They can tell you the difference between the two. As I recall, one was like a cup and the other had a pin. I called them and they were real helpfull over the phone. I needed an 18" tube insert, but had to order it uncrimped so I could use my original parts. I checked with a couple of barber supply houses here in Phoenix also, but they were the same price and would order them from Marvy as well. Again - you got to love Craigslist. Congrats! Title: Barber Pole Post by: SIGNGUY on March 01, 2007, 09:34:58 pm Great Score ... I alsway have wanted one of those as well..what a deal $50 bucks...Im assuming it was close to you if you had to go remove it from the building?? NICE!!!

also found a place called www.pabarberpole.com has the same parts will se how they compare... It was a older couple .. she had it out on their back porch.... she plugged it in to show me that it lit up but said it didn't turn anymore... She unplugged it... gave me a ratchet and a wire cutter It was down and paid for in minutes! I have a barber chair from a shop that closed down in the town I live in, I have a OLD hat rack that's made out of a pine tree from the shop that cut my hair in Springfield, MO I would say the rack is 70+ years old and now this pole! All I need is some sissors and a razor and I'm in Business!!!!! Title: Barber Pole Post by: Bob K on March 02, 2007, 11:54:34 am Eric - just a little off the top, please...
