Title: Super Bowl Post by: dr galaga on January 31, 2007, 10:43:30 pm Anyone else getting tired of hearing about the Super Bowl? I live in NW Indiana and am caught in the middle of it. Chicago has never wanted us, the rest of Indiana won't claim us and no one can decide if this is Bear or Colt territory! We are on the Central time zone since we are in the Chicago Metro Market and most of our information comes out of Illinois. All I am hearing and reading about is Bears vs. Colts (or Colts vs. Bears). The newspapers are twice as thick as normal with all of the Super Bowl stories. I now know that the exact midpoint between the two stadiums is Monon, Indiana and that many players have eating traditions before big games. Aaaarrrghhh! Title: Super Bowl Post by: sodaworks on January 31, 2007, 11:44:32 pm My old boss is a die hard colts fan, So I hope they blow it!!
Title: Super Bowl Post by: Pat Pixley on January 31, 2007, 11:59:00 pm I would like to see the Bears win this one .
can't count on the Lion's Pat Title: Super Bowl Post by: collecture on February 01, 2007, 12:22:33 am If it makes you feel any better Pat, I have a port-a-john parked on the back of my lot for all the construction guys to use.
The company who owns and services it is named "Super Bowl". I'd like to see the Colts win, but I really wanted the Saints to go. Title: Super Bowl Post by: BrianB on February 01, 2007, 07:24:57 am Brent - I sorta feel you pain! Living here in South Central Indiana we are getting deluged with all of the hype. Not so much Bears stuff, but a lot of stuff none the less. I guess I'll root for the Colts for my 8 y.o. daughters sake. She loves 'em and would probably consider me a traitor If I didn't pull for them!
Truth be told I'm actually a 49ers fan! I know, I know..... Title: Super Bowl Post by: MCarter on February 01, 2007, 09:53:03 am Go Colts !! Season ticket holder and been waiting a long time for this to happen. I know how feel Dr. Galaga since the bears QB is from my town so we have a newspaper that is 50/50 also. What a headache.
Title: Super Bowl Post by: aspbear1 on February 01, 2007, 03:14:16 pm Not a big fan of either team. Redskins forever here. A bunch of us always have a big poker party and super bowl boards for the game so it is always fun....
Title: Super Bowl Post by: Eric on February 01, 2007, 04:04:24 pm I don't care who's playing or who wins! Just keep the wings

Maybe next year after Favre makes up his mind!!!!! Speaking of Football... you guys know who Rich Gannon is? right QB for the Raiders a few years back and some other teams.... Anyway. I met him a few years back and found out he's a Huge collector of this stuff. Coke machines, signs, clocks, Gas and Oil Stuff... Haven't seen his collection yet, but heard that he bought and old School House in Rural MN and it's a mini museum. Sure would be great to have a few Mill in the bank and pick up a few items here and there... actually I heard he was quite stingy and nitpicky? but oh well thought I'd share. Da Bears Still Suck! Go COLTS Title: Super Bowl Post by: Pat Pixley on February 01, 2007, 10:26:27 pm You know I'm just happy to see two
team from the northern area going to the super bowl . Because I will never see the G * D Lions get there, At least in my life time. So Bear's or Colts GO TEAM'S OH yeah Tom I don't think the Lion's could make that Bowl either Pat Title: Super Bowl Post by: David D on February 01, 2007, 10:32:50 pm Go Bears
Title: Super Bowl Post by: collecture on February 01, 2007, 11:45:15 pm QUOTE OH yeah Tom I don't think the Lion's could make that Bowl either. They could certainly fill it up! So could the Cardinals for that matter. I am hoping that Phoenix can do better next year. They certainly have the talent - hopefully Whisenhunt can get them into shape. Title: Super Bowl Post by: cormy on February 02, 2007, 10:55:59 am I have lost my interest in the superbowl and in pro football in general. The Superbowl is nothing more than a Hollywood production and is too commercialized for my liking anymore. Pro football has turned into a money generating over commercialized event that I feel has lost all is roots to the true game of the 60's through the 70's. Now the players and teams have no loyalty to cities or fans and just go were the money is. All the old stadiums with character are ripped down for "new and improved" sterile skyboxes. They don't even play on grass anymore, might get dirty! Ref's are constatly being challenged for calls which drag the game on for hours. Players leave the locker room in suits and ties get into their Mercedes Benz, and drive to one of their mansions. Did you know that in the begining of pro football a player had to work in the off season since he wasn't getting paid when he wasn't playing! And it wasn't much!
Oh well, that's the way it goes..look at NASCAR.. Title: Super Bowl Post by: aspbear1 on February 02, 2007, 06:55:03 pm You are right cormy but I sure do love the game. It is a true sport and when you go to the high school games "what an atomsphere"
Title: Super Bowl Post by: collecture on February 02, 2007, 07:56:26 pm QUOTE ...and when you go to the high school games "what an atomsphere" You got that right...fun time!!! As far as the greed, etc. It all started when FOX TV got involved. Feeds on C-Band got encrypted - the NFL Sunday Ticket was "invented" - "free agency" picked up. Everything changed!! Title: Super Bowl Post by: SIGNGUY on February 02, 2007, 08:37:11 pm Yeah.. yeah yeah.... After Today's Announcement about Favre Coming Back to the Packers for another season.... I just don't care about the superbowl any longer... my week has been made!! Go Packers Super Bowl 2008 champions!!!
Title: Super Bowl Post by: Kevin C on February 04, 2007, 10:21:30 am Hey
I look at it like like this. All I want is a good exciting game. I would like to see the Payton have a good game & get the monkey off his back. I like the Coach for the Bear Lovey Smith. He seems so cool & calm on the sidelines. But for me I will only have football withdrawl for two weeks. My son's (Coke rescue team driver) college spring practice starts in two weeks. So it will be next season for me in two weeks Go Dogs! Kevin Title: Super Bowl Post by: sodaworks on February 04, 2007, 05:06:28 pm Kevin, here is your son playing ball?
Title: Super Bowl Post by: Kevin C on February 05, 2007, 08:29:33 pm Hey
He is at The Citadel. 1-AA Southern Conference team. He redshirted this year. He will be playing left offensive tackle this year & he will be second string. Being the second string means that you are one play away from being the starter. Last season they (The Citadel) played Texas A&M & Pitt. In 07 they have a road trip to the land of cheese & beer. Wisconson. College football! I am ready to tailgating now Kevin |
