Title: Jack Pot!
Post by: johnieG on January 06, 2007, 06:30:58 pm
Well my buddy who is into gameroom equipment is finally getting ready to have a "barn" sale of all of his accumilated soda machines, he let me have a "sneak peek" & I scored a sweet Nesbitts Vendo/transitional  V126!  and a Vendo V77 Coke that is extra clean! he plans to list all these machines & more in the Coin-op & slot magazines with full page ads, so Pat Pixley & my self are planing to hit his stash next weekend Sunday the 14th of Jan.

He's getting away from the soda machines ( "too many irons in the fire" ) & concentrating on his game room line of Pinball, Slots, Pool tables, etc.  so if you see something you might like notify me & I'll out a "sold Tag" & get you his asking price(s) & you can give him your best offer, the machines I'm showing all look to be complete, & were funtional at one point in time ( these are his "runners" as he said to me) & he has many nore parts machines that aren't shown in a sepparate barn.

So I'd thought I'd give the site members a Heads-up on this little Jack pot..  :;):

He has Ideal 55's in embossed 7up, generics, an Ideal 85/Hires rootbeer/embossed, Atlas Beverages. a GE waterchilled,  Chest like the one I'm restoring. lots of chest coolers & various sliders, and as you can see quite a few 'fridges for the 40's & 50's Even a LaCrosse shorty 56/Vernors with the little bottledoor! & a real nice LaCrosse 7up/lightup/90, & a lot of Westinghouse standard chest coolers a mix of electric & ice chilled & a few Cavlier Chests/giants & a statndard water-chilled

I'm going back tomorrow to help him sort them out & arrange them for the sale ( basically digging them all out from the pile!)...so drop a line/email or PM me...

Or come join use & make a day out of it!
I can assist with shipping or storage until you can pick you machine up.

It's a Frigidare Arctic Orange brand frozen orange-aid chest freezer from what I could tell, it's not embossed, but is "branded" with Artic Oranges' decals & a real neat metal/litho full color promo on the under-side of the lid. it looks to be about 6-8 cubic feet deep in size

I'll see if I can get it in the clear for some better pic's

           :happydrinkers:

Jim, he was asking $500 & we settled at $350.00.

It's got to be one of the cleanest originals I've ever seen, even the galvanizing is still bright!

What I'm doing is getting an Idea from members & Tagging the machines as "On Hold" for SMC ****

 where " ****" = Members-Name

Until I can get his best pricing nailed down per machine for those who are interested.

He'll hold them from sale to local buyers & call-in's until I give him a go-no/go on that particular machine for a week and I'll be listing some of the others myself on ebay.

I even found a decent Seeburg trash-can Juke in the back! (no price listed) this is a 50,000 square foot warehouse & you can barley move between the areas, at least he's had it sort of arranged by type of machines, soda, jukes, arcade, slots, etc.

Yes , those are old fridges, the compressor is on the top... nice for servicing I'd guess..
Do you ever see these guys who paint those up red/white and slap on a water release decal on the front and call it a vintage Coke machine...I bet I've had three of those calls or emails over the years, and of course when I go see it or see the picture it's one of these. The discussions that insue as I go onto tell them what it is .. is usually quite amusing.

I think they are called monitor top refrigerators.
It's interesting in design.  They were made as iceboxes
but later the lid could be removed and the refrigerator
unit put on top in it's place.  The cooling coils under the compressor would hold 2 ice cube trays.  With the cold heavy air being produced on top.......they didn't need
a fan.

Yes, it's CS122, I'll get his $ today when I go back

he's asking $400.00  for the CS122, it's 98% complete , it appears to be missing it's coin return knob, but the mechanisms intact in side, coinmechs there too, it's wedge in its nook really tight & I tried to get the best angle in the pictures possible, I plugined it in & it ran & got cold , racks are there as well as what looks like some spacers for different diameter bottles, look like it'll vvend cans to with some tweaking. some of the sold out windows are missing but it has one good one to copy from & it manually vended when I flicked the coinmechs nickel wisker-wire.

its a straight machine. no major dents & no noticable rust.

If you notice an orange tag on the machines, thats a "Hold" tag for SMC members

Eric. it is indeed a G.E. Standard wet chest & 100% complete right  down to the cap catcher & louvered front grill. he had a tag on it asking $700.00 but he has two he says & he has to make sure this isn't another customers personel machine that he took in to restore! its twin is in another barn & I'm "encoraging" hime to let me dig it out,  I think this is the one for sale as he has a tag on it...

I'll  help in any way I can, here's the last picture I wanted to post tonight ( my clicky finger is worn out!)

it's complete but dissasembled Vendo V39, he's asking $800 which is what he paid for it supposably, a bit too high in my option, but a nice straight machine thats rust free & as stated, complete. perhaps "cash" in hand will change his mind. (lower the price)

He has some clocks up on the walls, I'll try to snap some pictures for you, no to many signs, the coke sign you saw behind the Lacrosse 7up machine is a painted metal sign that goes (went) on front off of an old display rack for a grocery store, he also has them in 7up, & pepsi, about 12" wide & 3' long. nothing special, $10-bucks ea. there is Forward air down in Detroit, but the require crating, when I have to ship via them, I just hire craters-n-freighters, or take my soda machines up to Fedexfreight in flint, they just need it on a pallet & strapped down ( I also cover it in cardboard & shrink-wrap my machines) they are more than Forward air, but a lot less of a hassle, I get a 40% discount from Fedex for all freight collect shipments (terminal to terminal) which helps out, & I can haul it up to Flint,

I am interested in that Glasco slider, complete or not.

If we have enough interest, maybe someone here will rent
a truck and drop off these items all across the country for a fee.
Great adventure for that cross country team during spring break.  When they get out here to California, we can send some stuff
back east with them.   :happydrinkers:

Only the Ideal 85's I've shown , no 55's or 35's to be seen, & only one Glasco GV50/Coke he has parts for all of the sliders I've mentioned to sell you a complete machine.

Yes , the one you saw with the pepsi logo/decal may have a leak he said ( not a good thing with an ammonia system), but you can have your pick of any of the others for $250!  Pat & I can pick out a nice one for you. I think i can transplant a working compressor assy to the others lower chassis, & that should work nicely!

how does this sound, if those who are interested in any of the machines be they soda or otherwise, if you can PM me you cell No.s you can do a little real-time haggling between you & the owner, I can give the machines a going over & locate parts. then Pat & I can pull asside ours & your machines, he can store it there for a while, & I have a local storage unit too you can use. until you can figure out shipping,

Johnie,

On behalf of everyone here at SMC, I would like to Thank You for extending an open invitation to everyone! I hope all those involved get an opportunity to get something they like and at what seems to be very reasobable prices ! ! !

And Pat, I Thank You for helping in this matter too!

Lastly, I don't want any broken backs while moving all these machines!

Oh yea, are still sure about the V-77...?

I must say this man is something of a hero offering to be the "middle man" in all this. I have been involved in similar situations on a smaller scale and it can be a real hassle trying to make everybody happy. I think this group has a great working relationship and all parties will be satisfied in the end! Take advantage of this opportunity, who knows when it will happen again. Good luck guys!!   :happydrinkers:

Tick-Tock.....

Well I'm taking tomorrow (Friday) off to help arrange the machines in some resemblance of order.

the walk thru date has been bumped up to this Saturday, Jan. the 13th. as our "host" ( Mr. J. that is  not myself) won't be able to make it on Sunday, and with out him, there is no access to the warehouse, ( as if putting 75 - slot machines in a row wasn't enough!)

I've PM'd those who've contact me & requested your cell phone numbers so I can contact those who are interested in any of the mentioned machine, or anything else you may be looking for...( I won't share these with any others) & I think this may work out to be the best way to keep it all straight...and make it alot easier to negotiate pricing offers, etc.

the warehouse has a dock for loading & a forklift too.

Shipping, I can help transport machines to the Fedexfreight Dock  locally, (Flint) they don't require crating, just a pallet & cardboarded & shrink-wrapped, (they know me well!) I get a 40% discount for freight collect to the terminal nearest you...all I ask is you replace my  gas in my truck! you can get a quick quote online at www.fedexfreight.com & apply 40% off.

There is also a Forward Air terminal down at Detroit Metro airport,  but be aware that the Detroit Forward air terminal  requires all machines to be crated ( I know it's a pain in the @$$) I can transport to them, but you'll have to deal with them directly to have it shipped out.
( they have a contractor who will provide crating services)

So PM me your contact info if you'd like & we'll (Pat & I) will be talking to you then ( & lot's more pictures too, I promise!)

You can yank the network cable out of your computer...or, if you are married, you can tell your wife your interest in some machines.  Both of these will instantly stop your desire for more machines!  :p

Johnie, I will be in Michigan for training the last week of this month. Any possibility of getting with you (or the owner) and looking at some Jukes up there? I am only intereseted in getting one at the moment.

I may have an offer on my house in Michigan, If the sale goes through I have to haul some things back down to Nashville. I could probably help with delivery to the surrounding areas if everyone is willing to help me break even on cost. I'll keep you posted on the sale. Hopefully I hear something early next week

now a scan to the left...kind of gives you a scope of the size of this place!

Post by: johnieG on January 13, 2007, 08:04:06 pm
Well , I think it went well. seems everybody got something they were looking for,

coke_and_stuff scored his Cavalier CS122 for a nice price & has an eye on a choice Seeburg 110-a series Selectomatic.

TomFromJersey had a long and hopefully productive talk with the owner "Big John" on a bunch of Wurlizters & Rockolas Jukes' & such.

Pat Pixley was making Doe-Eyes at an Atlas Ideal-55a

I found Yarochrehc a nice working Monitor top Westinghouse refrigerator.

I found MoonDawg his Glasco silder too!

Me. I have my Nessbits Vendo v-126/transitional. a Vendo V-77/Coke, & I found a decent Westinghouse 42-T Coke machine, no shelves, but complete with a full/working coinmech-crankhandle & refrigeration system ($100!!!)

we also unearthed the Cavalier C51 seen in the earlier pic's, its really just a shell & refrigeration system. no ammo belt..

Pat will forward the pictures on his camera later tonight & we'll post them then!

and somebody needed a "gnome" shot, we couldn't get the Vernors LaCrosse-56 out in the open enough to get a clean shot at the little bugger! ( crafty those gnomes!) but here's a vernors sign the might suffice..

It is a WE-6 but It's on consignment and not part of the warehouse items proper, the owner has had it there for two years with an asking price of $1000, and now you know why it's still sitting there! it's in Primo shape though, but not for $1k-buck...(unless you really like it!)

He had $250/Pair listed on them, the late model Slots seen in the pictures range from $150-800 depending on which model. I'm not a slot collector, so I've no idea, he also has earlier 5-10-25-50-cent slot machines, if you wish  PM me & I'll get you in contact with him.

when the warehouse was cleared out, there were very few Ideal parts around, I picked up a rack & a cap catcher for an Ideal-55.  I picked up 2 glasco-50/Cokes & a Hires rootbeer (Ideal-55), Pat Pixley scored a Ideal-55 Atlas beverages slider. the rest of the machines (sliders) were mostly Ideal 85s & were sold to another local dealer, the warehouse is now vacant & empty. & he's moved into his new building (right across the parking lot) but he may have some parts squireled away, you can give him a call at "games people play", in MtClemens, Michigan.  (586) 469-8353 , John is the owners name

they also have a website... http://www.games-peopleplay.com (http://www.games-peopleplay.com)
