Title: Starting on my Vendo today
Post by: davet426 on January 04, 2007, 03:23:22 pm
I am starting the tear down of my vendo today. Somebody masked of all the chrome and glass. It was probably done around 1967 :( What is a good product to remove? It needs to get through the tape not just residue.

Thanks

Might be able to get most of it off with a hair dryer or heat gun. Goo Gone works sometimes. Acetone will work but will take the paint off.

If you are going to restore it, let your chrome trim guy deal with it.
To do it yourself, I'd remove the chrome first and soak them in like rubbing alcohol (shouldn't hurt the stainless).

There is some stuff called dissolve that you can get at wal mart I have used it to take old stickers off of machines.  It really works well.  It is in about a pint bottle and is a yellow liquid.  Just spray it around the edges and let it soak for a few minutes and it will peel right off...
