Title: Thanks
Post by: davet426 on December 05, 2006, 01:16:00 am
I would like to thank everyone for their support in buying the proper tools and giving hard earned knowledge to get into this hobby (businesses for some). You have given me the opportunity to go forward without many errors that have been made. I owe quite a few of you for answering questions you've probably heard a thousand times, and not making me feel foolish for asking.  Just like to say "it's great there are people out there just willing to help for something they love".

Hoprfully I enjoy this and can pass on the knowledge for many years to come... but who knows... things pass pretty fast in my life... :p

That's one of the great things about this site, "we all share information". We all have to start somewhere so don't hesitate to ask for help or offer help.  :happydrinkers:

That is what is so great about this site. It is probably the best on the web. Never hesitate to ask anything. We were all new to this at some time.

Dave,
As my early teachers said "There is no stupid question!" And that holds true for this community. The fact that nobody is belittled (there is subtle ribbing here and there) is what keeps me (all of us) around.
Everyone here is still learning. It still amazes me how many different configurations and styles these old machines have - nowadays everything is so standardized. It is also interesting to me to see how they evolved and the design improvements that were implemented from time to time.
This is a great site!
Stick around and teach us something!

I think that is why most of us here love the old stuff!  Simpler times.   :happydrinkers:

Right now I have a 1967 chevy. It is all original, straight 6 / 3 on the tree. But I'm always looking and buying and selling. It's a pretty cool hobby, drive 'em for awhile get rid of and get something else. This would needs some work still, another reason for all the new tools!

Interesting,
I built and showed a 67 chevy stepside. Was featured in numerous magazines. I sold it at the nationals.  It is now in Yokohama, Japan.
I currently have a 71 factory 2WD Jimmy (blazer) and a 64 El Camino. We are also restoring a 62 Ford Falcon 2door for my daughter.

I have a friend in Michigan who is big into Ford falcons. Let me know if you need any original parts. He's got ton's of stuff or has great contacts. He has a '63 (Ithink)ranchero and '70 1/2 falcon he also has some old parts cars...

These last three post....in my opinion...is what makes this site great!

I've never been to another forum that got along this well...and i've been a part of alot of forums...(SCCA,car audio, computer repair, honda Performance, even a few i'm not so proud of!) But none have been as friendly and helpful as this one!

Mrs. davethebirdman please understand the truck was shown only because it was requested by Sodaworks... I had know idea Dave had a love for these as well, although I should have. I will be more careful in my future posts as I do not want to add to your pain.

Note to Dave: If you get one be sure to post pics. They are great!
