4 pieces of channel which are cut at 45 degrees at each end and connected together. A large frame can be disassembled and cut to desired size. Title: EASY TO FIND PARTS WANTED Post by: coke_and_stuff on December 12, 2006, 05:37:02 pm Glen thats what im about to try and acomplish, Dave Just need the frames.
Joey Title: EASY TO FIND PARTS WANTED Post by: BrianB on December 13, 2006, 09:03:56 am I attempted to cut my own sign frames out of aluminium angle and shortly found out that I didn't have the right tools/set-up to accomplish the task cleanly and with the exact angle each time.
I ended up goig to a local frame shop that does a majority of their own work on site unlike Michaels & Hobby Lobby which ship off all custom framing orders. After describing what I wanted, the owner took me back and showed me the saw that he was going to use. To get a PERFECT 45 degree cut everytime he uses a VERY expensive miter table saw desigend specifically for cutting 45's. Turned out really nice. After all of that, I decided that it would be cheaper and I would have less time/money in it if I went a different route. A custom frame made by Michaels ($15) and a couple of pieces of plexi (one clear one opaque) and a vinyl decal. Title: EASY TO FIND PARTS WANTED Post by: coke_and_stuff on December 13, 2006, 07:22:41 pm I'll see what I can do, Shouldnt be to hard. I'll post some pics when I get to that point.
Joey Title: EASY TO FIND PARTS WANTED Post by: davet426 on December 13, 2006, 11:42:00 pm Well I'll try a different route. Have you seen these? I layed carpet in my young pup days and we would use these to angle cut metal where carpet meets vinyl. Don't know if they would work. If you have a carpet tool wholesaler in your area you could probably take it there and try them??? They may sell something similar at a hardware store?
