Live cam, it gets really active around 9:30-10:00 pm central time. Heard something last night like a lion roaring. Seen lots of Giraffes, zebras, monkeys. Fun to watch throuh the day. It will be getting dark soon, thats when the monkeys are on the move. The lodge on the grounds is behind the camera and occasionally it will pan to it. Title: OT pretty cool web site Post by: collecture on November 28, 2006, 09:24:20 am Pretty neat and kind of addicting. I thought it was a fixed camera at first, but it looks to be remote or motion controlled.
My 5-year-old really got a kick out of seeing some elephants and Zebras last night. Thanks for sharing! Title: OT pretty cool web site Post by: jasmine64too on November 28, 2006, 11:42:35 am It is addictive.
Someone runs the camera manually, on occasion. They must have been doing some matainance today since they were moving the camera along the power line and junction boxes where it attached to the tree. I got to fianally see the elephants up close. Some times the picture is excellence then others, blurry. Last week the thunderstorm was awsome it was midnight and the thunder and lightening was great. Havent figured out what makes the snort/growl noise. Hubby thinks it's either an elephant or bison. Double click the picture to make it wide screen, then double click to close. around 8 30 - 9 pm central is a really good watering time for the animals. Title: OT pretty cool web site Post by: jasmine64too on November 28, 2006, 11:49:41 am I check it every 20 minutes to see if they are moving the camera, they seem to do it often.
I got to see the tour group for the first time out in the jeep last night about 9 pm, which is around 5 am their time. Title: OT pretty cool web site Post by: collecture on November 28, 2006, 01:49:48 pm Down below the camera picture is current Africa date and time.
There is a building out in the distance, which is occupied as I briefly saw somebody walking by it. I am certain that the camera is either remote or motion sensor operated and not manually operated all day. The shot is way too steady and the movement of the camera appears motorized the way it goes back and forth finding animals. It also always returns to the exact same shot of the pond. QUOTE Havent figured out what makes the snort/growl noise. Not sure exactly what you are hearing. I believe yesterday morning (Africa evening), I did hear a lion and possibly see him on the hill just on the other side of the pond. It was before I knew the camera zoomed and I didn't watch too long. The constant noise is wind on the microphone and it sounds like there is a pump or something pulsing nearby. Check out their home page and see exactly what the lodge looks like. http://www.nkorho.com/ I watch every evening to see the elephants. Anyone know how to do screen shots? I'd love to get some of the animals and save them to my desk top. Some one told me it could be done in paint shop or digital image pro. by pressing the print screen button when one of the programs were open and then paste it to the program, under next image. But all i get is a black screen. Title: OT pretty cool web site Post by: Ridewithme38 on November 28, 2006, 05:12:34 pm nevermind
