Title: Cavalier C-51
Post by: CoolCat on October 30, 2006, 11:37:11 pm
There is currently an auction Item number: 130041940313 on e-Bay for a white Cavalier C-51G.  It appears to be white.  In the picture of the interior, it appears there is a bit of white overspray.  Does anyone know if Cavalier ever produced an all-white C-51?

Most of the original C-51's that I have seen are all red with white lettering; however, there are a few originals that show up with the later red/white paint scheme and chrome trim between the colors. The chrome trim is similar in design to the Vendo 44 - narrow and rounded. I also see a lot of early style 51's painted in the red/white, but they do not have the chrome trim. I think somebody repainted this one in their own design.

Maybe I can help.  The Cavalier c-51 was manufactered in the early 50s as an all red model.  In around 1956, coke requested that vendoand Cavalier (or the distributors) repaint many of them (as with most of it's round top soda machines)with a white top.  I am not sure any c-51s were painted with a white top from the factory.  Most were just retrofitted/ repainted.  I have never heard of an all white scheme and I am pretty sure it di not come form the Cavalier factory.Hopes this helps.
