Title: How Far Have You Driven for a Machine? Post by: ZMonet on September 13, 2006, 10:31:11 pm I rented a van today and drove approx. 500+ miles round trip to pick up my recent purchase of a Vendo 110. I obviously had a lot of time to think, so I began to wonder how far some of you guys have driven SOLELY to pick up a machine. I'm sure my 500+ miles is tame next to some of you
Title: How Far Have You Driven for a Machine? Post by: collecture on September 13, 2006, 11:18:43 pm I've driven that distance - maybe a little more (600+). Beyond that it just isn't cost/time effective. My drives were also years ago before gas prices spiked. Now a days that would be close to $150 in fuel - not to mention the time spent. So far, I just haven't had the luck that Signguy has had with sellers. If I can ever get a seller to do what they have done for him in getting the machine to Forward Air - I'd be a happy camper. It really boils down to the machine though and how badly I want it.

Title: How Far Have You Driven for a Machine? Post by: SIGNGUY on September 14, 2006, 10:40:53 am I have been lucky with some sellers helping me with shipping. but I too have driven for machines. I suppose the farthest was from Minneapolis to Demoine Iowa.. but even in this case the seller drove from Kansas City to Demoine to meet me and I paid him for his Gas. It was worth it for a sweet restored Vendo 56 RT with Glass Door that was priced right! I don't know if I'd do the Minny to Indy Trip??? but for the right machine... who knows??
Title: How Far Have You Driven for a Machine? Post by: ZMonet on September 14, 2006, 10:45:26 am I actually found the whole trip to be part of the adventure. Like any addiction, it isn't always acquiring the item but everything associated with it that gives you the "high".
Title: How Far Have You Driven for a Machine? Post by: coke_and_stuff on September 14, 2006, 03:54:45 pm I drove about 4 hrs last year, in a flat bed one ton with NO AC in July. I ended up picking up 8 machines though so it was worth it.
Joey Title: How Far Have You Driven for a Machine? Post by: dr galaga on September 14, 2006, 06:46:29 pm The furthest I have driven for a soda machine is a little under 400 miles round trip. I have also driven a little over 400 miles in a blizzard for a jukebox!

Pat Title: How Far Have You Driven for a Machine? Post by: Marvin on September 16, 2006, 06:10:29 pm The last machine I bought was in Dallas, TX. I am in Memphis, TN. Closed the deal with the guy on Friday. I was going to get it shipped, but really wanted to get it. So I got up Sunday morning, went to Dallas, loaded the machine and returned the same day. It was just shy of 1000 miles round trip. Like around 950.

We, my Wife and I, covered close to 900 miles total. This was in Texas and Oklahoma. Eric Title: How Far Have You Driven for a Machine? Post by: jasmine64too on October 01, 2006, 09:44:28 am me, I stay close to home round trip 80 miles.
