Title: Won't unlock! Post by: on August 15, 2006, 06:24:51 pm Oh no! I got everything fixed... all the re-wire done and it is on the porch humming away. But now, after getting all the hard stuff done I have run into a frustrating problem. A friend of mine also owns a machine and gave me one of his spare keys. The key is a "gem" key and fits no problem. It even locked the door without a problem. Now however, the lock is locked and will not unlock. What on earth do I do now? How do I get in? Any tips?
And I fogot to add... the lock is a CAV 19 Paul Title: Won't unlock! Post by: dr galaga on August 15, 2006, 07:14:27 pm Try pushing a little on the door as you are trying to turn it. Also, you can try "raking" it a little bit as you are trying to turn it. By raking I mean keep pulling and pushing the key a little bit as you are trying to turn.

Title: Won't unlock! Post by: collecture on August 16, 2006, 12:02:36 am Is the key turning at all in the lock? Try blowing some powdered graphite into the lock to ease it up. Also try pushing down and pulling up on the coin door as you turn the key. When/If you do get it open, put some grease on the locking bar. Most machines also have adjustments you can make to the brackets to make them looser or tighter.
Title: Won't unlock! Post by: on August 17, 2006, 06:17:15 pm Well... after the frustration finally got the better of me I just drilled the lock and ordered a new lock and key from Fun-tronics. Thanks for all the tips, the lock just wasn't having any of it.
