Title: Revelations Post by: Skeleton Man on July 21, 2006, 04:39:41 pm I finally got my machine in usable shape to the point I could attach a coin mech, and the following was revealed:
1) The 'time-delay' relay is used to hold the solenoid open for 1 -2 seconds to allow the cans to drop. Removing the time delay part (R/C) results in the solenoid releasing far too quickly and not dispensing the drink. 2) My Coinco 9310 (a $50 mech) will *not* program correctly. It has a field tune mode where you add new coins, and I tried to add $1 and $2 CDN coins with no luck. I was able to program $1 coins with little problem.. the mech behaves just like if a DBA were attached, accepting $1 only if there is enough change, and returning 4 quarters on escrow. My problems started when I tried to program in $2 bi-metal coins. It went through the whole programming phase ok, but when I returned to normal mode it treated every $2 coin as a $1 and now refuses to accept 95% of nickels, dimes and quarters. Out of a handful of like 50 coins, only 1 nickel will be accepted, every other coin gets rejected ! I know someone here specialises in coin mechs and their repair, so if you could help me out I would be much obliged. I have an old broken 9800B mech also.. the solenoids are still good (at least the AC crems anyway), but the logic board is screwed. Is it worth fixing these ? They're worth like $5 a peice right ?
