Title: Choice vend 168 not getting cold Post by: Rickplayer on July 13, 2006, 10:41:37 pm I just plugged it in today and after a few hours it still wasn't cold. I bypassed the thermostat and same story. I can hear the compressor kicking in and staying on, and I feel air blowing. What can I do now?

Remove the thermostat. Take the two wires off of it and connect them together. This will cause the compressor to stay on, so don't leave it this way. condenser fan are wired together to be "cycled" by the thermostat. If you have power to the lower fan...you have power to the compressor. At that point, you need to look closer at the compressor or the cooling system, tubing, coils, etc. The compressor may be shot or there may be a leak or..... Do they make drop in replacements that can be mixed with R-12 ? (ie. you don't need to drain the old stuff, replace seals, oil, etc)
