Just returned from the area a few days ago! Spent about a week in western NC... As far as what to expect, I'm not sure what your daughter and friends like to do, but the rafting is fun, hiking through the woods visiting beautiful waterfalls, swimming in the FRIGID water, etc, etc... I took my 12 and 8 year old daughters on the combo train ride/rafting trip.... You take a 3 hour steam train ride and they let you off right by the rafting center...... no matter what you do, you'll have fun.....

The tent was trashed and needed hosing off, looks like they had a good time even though it rained alot. |
