Title: Choicevend 223 free vend
Post by: on November 15, 2002, 11:16:49 am
I have read all the post on bypassing the coin mech and have had no luck. I have a ChoiceVend 223 and the coin mech is gone. I have been told that the coin mech in this machine was a coinco number S75-9800B. I have tried to put a switch across the plug and can hear the relay kick but the selection buttons will not kick the vend motors. I tested all the vend motors and they all work fine.

Can you set up the free vend with out the coin mech in the machine? I guess the relay could be bad but not sure how to test. Any ideas??

Thanks for any help!!

Mike Julian

the diagram I posted earlier should work with most coinco 115 volt equipt machines with or without the coin mech I've got 3 machines wired this way myself a 60's Vendo VF56, a Westighouse WC-78-MD "selectimatic", & A 60's vendo V90. I've  noticed this trouble with Choicevend multi-flavor/button machines, try this, tie Pins 6 & 7 together also, pin 7 normally is closed to pin 6, to tell the coin mech the vending rack is ready to vend. just a jumper wire should do for a test run... let us know how it works..(or not)

I will give that a try this afternoon. I messed with it a little this weekend and found that the main relay and hold relay both had power and seem to be working (looking inside the relay box is just like working on an old pinball). The thing that seemed strange was the voltage. I was only showing 28 - 30 volts at the relays. Is this right??

Thanks for the info I will post what I find out.

Put the jumper between 6 and 7 with no luck. Everything seems so close to running. I just can't get power to the individual relays to kick the vend motor over when you push the select buttons.

With the help from johnieG it was figured out that a jumper needs to placed from the 1 post to the 7 post on this model of coinco coin mech. I did this and FREE COKES!!!

Thanks for all the help!! This is a GREAT site!!

Jim, I am not sure what mech would have come in this machine. It did not have one in it when I got it. I have been told by capital vending that the conico that was in there was their part number S75-9800B.

Yep, I have a jumper from 1 to 7 and then the switch wired on 1 and 3.

Works great.

Now if I can get the timing set for the bigger aluminum cans.
