Title: Tech question
Post by: Lulu on June 15, 2006, 07:55:24 am
Hi,

I've got a tech question for all you Guru's.  My computor locks up when I'm on this site.  I may be able to browse around for awhile, but eventually it will freeze up.  This is the only site that it does it on.  Any idea what is going on?  I'm guessing it's a software conflict.  It happens when I click the mouse to change screens.  I have to manually shut it off and then restart and reconnect.  Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Hello Lulu,

I've been having no problems using IE 6.0.2800...
I'm not sure what could be causing this to occur...
I'll assume you're on a PC, so, can you Ctrl+Alt+Del to access the Task Manager...?
If you can, make sure you are on the Applications tab, locate the Internet Explorer application, highlight it/select it and click the End Task button at the bottom. This process should allow you to keep your computer running without having to restart/reboot...

Thanks for the suggestions.  I've tried the cont/alt/del but it won't even let me do that.  It's a mystery to me.

Do you do the monthly Microsoft updates?  A while back I was having the same problems with ebay (I ended up using another browser to view those pages) and then after one of the updates everything worked fine.  You could try using a different browser here too. Firefox is a good one.

Lulu,
What OS are you running? Before WinXP, I used to back-up my stuff and re-format the hard drive and load the OS back on every now and then to get rid off all the crap that inevitably got on there. Since XP, I have really had minimal problems and have not had to do that.
