Title: What happens when your gone
Post by: Pat Pixley on May 30, 2006, 10:48:40 pm
Ok I saw this in Soda Pop Dreams
What will happen to your soda collection when your gone.
Some people want to leave their stuff to family and others
wanted it to go to the Coca Cola history center.
This made me think , Were would my stuff go when I'm long gone ?  Well My daughter has expressed a interest in my shot glass  collection she has 100 right now  and has just started showing a interest in my soda stuff she would like the Vendo 63 right now for her apartment and done in a Diet Coke theme  ( :suspect:  that just wrong )
She will get my collection  when I'm gone.

 Thanks Blair  :D

Don't know. No youngin's here. So I've left the RT-56 to my sisters kid, guitars and such go to him as well. If I fall over dead Linda will let you all know. Hope to be a cranky old b**trd for a few more years though :-)

I have a five year old and a two year old and they have already divved up between them what they are having. Not when I have
gone but when they get their own home. Hopefully I still have at least twenty years to appreciate my collection. I know someone
in exactly the same postion as me 20 years back. His daughter moved out last year when she got married and took a Wurlitzer 1100 with her. I have no doubt they will strip me out when they move on.

Another shot glass collector?? And my wife told me I was crazy for collecting such things :D  I'm not sure how many I have, but no where near 100---- I stopped collecting since I don't have a place to put them :(

I don't think my wife would want my machines, but my kids already have adopted them at the ripe old age of 6 & 8 years old. They already tell their friends that they have to come over to see their soda machines :D

My kids, who are too young yet  (8, 4, and 1) I hope will each keep a machine and a few
things like signs, bottles, etc. They always are wanting to “work” on the machines and
wanting to know which is my favorite. The daughter will probably get my wife depression
glass collection and the boys will each get a gas pump... Just hope there will be a cool car
to give them too someday. Though what I think is cool as far as cars go and what they'll
think is cool will probably be 2 different ideas. :D

My kids have expressed interests in thier favorite pieces of our collection. I plan on having them write thier names/date on a piece of paper and attaching it inside or to the back of what they would like. Anything not claimed they can fight over. Ha-Ha...My grand daughter will also recieve my Rockola jukebox. She spends countless hours playing it and dancing. :D  Or I could just sell it all and have some fun. Hmmm....

Terry, your grand daughter sounds like the luckiest person out there.
Ken I have 520 shot glasses and my daughter would like to
 add to her collection.    :suspect:

As it stands now and I die tomorrow, my wife doesn't appear to give a hoot about any of my stuff. Even my nice originals are old and ratty looking to her. She would probably sell all I have for pennies on the dollar.
I hope my two sons will show some interest in them, but right now they are just 4 years old and 2 months old. My 4 year old certainly likes to put the nickels in. I really have no doubt that they will grow to like them and have a favorite among them.

I keep an inventory of what I have including the price I paid for it and what it is now worth.  Hopefully, this will help when they have to dispense of the stuff and nobody will "steal" it from them.

Well I know for sure my stuff will be in the yard with a for sale sign on it.

My dear hubby last week tried to bribe me with 500.00 to get rid of the Cav 22 just sell it as is on ebay have someone come pick it up and be done with it.

Little does he know if I did take the money there would be another machine to take it's place.

As for my home business my daughter last month took over the cake decorating part, leaving me with the candy and ebay part.

I figure the kids will split what I have.  Either that or I'll leave instructions to auction off the ammo belt from my Cavalier 51 and bury me in the cabinet.

My kids swear that they'll bury me in a soda machine. :D
