Title: Anyone crazy enough to try ie 7?
Post by: dr galaga on May 30, 2006, 08:35:30 pm
I don't want to get in to a debate over which web browser is the best (I personally use IE, Firefox and Netscape).  Anyone try the beta version of Internet Explorer 7?  I just installed it.  Looks like they are trying to have a look closer to Firefox.  What I don't like so far is that I had to turn on the "Classic" menu in order to get File, Edit, etc. and it sometimes disappears when I open a new window.  I also can't seem to get the address below the Classic Menu.  One neat thing is that it has a "Phishing Filter" which might be good for people that are not as Net savy.  I'll have to find some sites to see how well it works!
Anyone else have comments on it?

Haven't tried IE7, but concerning your menu bar comment, will the keyboard shortcuts work?

Yes, it looks like the keyboard shortcuts are there.  One good thing is that when you type a web address in the address bar, you can see a lot more of the pages that you have been to (it lists almost 20 instead of the 5 or-so).
