Title: Saddle valve, anyone? Post by: Saguaro on May 30, 2006, 08:14:27 pm My compressor is not cooling as well as it should be and my brother-in-law recommended I add a saddle valve to one of the compressor lines to recharged the system with a can of R-12. Has anyone tried this? Is it a bad idea (like most of his ideas)? Any recommendations?
Title: Saddle valve, anyone? Post by: Creighton on May 30, 2006, 08:29:38 pm Hello Saguaro,
Unless you have the tools and training to work on a compressor this is a bad idea. Give Eric at Global Compressors a call. Creighton Title: Saddle valve, anyone? Post by: BrianB on May 31, 2006, 06:28:09 am I have to agree with Creighton on this one. I wouldn't go with a "saddle valve" AKA Tap Valve. they are quick and easy but very prone to leakage. You'd be much better off having a pro solder in a Schrader "T" Valve. They are far superior to Tap Valves.
Give Eric a call, he's a great guy to work with and always has good advice. |
