I know it will be difficult to answer without a picture at this time. I have an old vendo that originally took nickles. I think the coin changer was worked on several times to increase that from a dime and then maybe even a quarter. The money changer doesn't work. I'm not sure. It has some surface rust that keeps the paint looking more yellow than white. It's a very narrow upright. Last time it was plugged the compressor worked (about 10 years ago). Does anyone have a good guess the value? It was really old when I got it about 30 years ago. They were going to trash it where my dad worked and he got it for me because I liked antiques. Also, does anyone know how I would go about selling it for the best price? I live in a small town and no dealers around.

Hello and welcome to the group. Why don't you have a look at the list of soda machines
that the website holds. Can be found on the home page. You should then be able to ID your machine from the Pictures. Once you have the make and model take a picture and tell us where you are.
I thnk you may have a Vendo 44 - If so they are fairly desirable because of the lack of space they take
up. They only vend one flavour though. (Listen to me the expert, I can hear the rest of you laughing)
You never know there may be someone here who wants your machine especially if it is a V-44 and you live close to someone.

It is a Model VMC 44. Motor is 1/5, Refrigerant F-12, 115 Volt. Made by Vendorlator Mfg. Co. Fresno, California. Serial number 44-4789A31 I won't be able to get pictures until after Easter. (Don't have a digital yet.) Thanks for any info you can give me. Oh, I am located in Southeastern Oklahoma. Yes, I know, not close to anyone.

A lot of factors play a role in value - cosmetic condition, working condition, completeness of parts, etc.
I wouldn't count on not being close to anyone, as you have a desirable machine and some people will travel to get it.
The 1999 'average condition' value for a complete VMC 44 is $1900; however, if it is complete, works and the paint is still in great shape with no rust, then the value could exceed that by 25% or more. On the other hand. a machine with rust-through and missing parts would be less than that.

Congrats on acquiring a very sought after machine and thank you from saving it from heading to the dump. We need to save as many of these as we can. Yes, please tell us about its condition asd if it looks like it is missing anything. And like the others have said, you location will be no problem. Soda machine collecting is a strong addiction and we all travel far and wide to buy a cool machine.

I'm pretty sure all of the parts are there with the exception of the handle that actually opens the machine. The handle that you push down to get the soda pop is there but the one inside that door did break off several years ago. For a long while I saved the handle but I will have to search to see if I still have it. I vaguely remember that in my cleaning frinzie one day it may have gotten trashed, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. It is still easily opened by turning what is left of the handle with pliers. Watch for pictures in a few weeks. Thanks so much for your information.

Yep that's pretty much like mine. Mine has more rust that is visible through the paint. However, I don't think anything is rusted to the point of damage other than the paint. Mine has a 5 cent sticker on it instead of the 10 cent.
