I'm gonna play the ignorant card here... but I don't deal much in 7up stuff and am I assuming that this is a "FANTASY" Machine? I saw it too and thought cool, but is is real. Is this one of those that they cut the embossing out of something else and patch it in? Looks cool but I agree if not original? what the point unless you just love 7up that much!

I was wondering about the originality also, but my bet is it is a fantasy item.
1. Jeff Walter's does not mention it in his book.
2. In all my brief years of collecting, I have never seen or heard of one.
Looks like they did a very nice job though (at least from pictures) - might not be as pristine perfect in person.

Guys believe it or not, Jeff Walters first edition Classic soda Machines list a VMC44 embossed 7 up machine with a picture that looks like this machine. He states "this is the rarest embossed 44 known to exist". So is it real? Someone here needs to buy it and reveal to backside of the embossing. If it is real, it would be worth some serious cash.

Walters also had an embossed Pepsi 44... then in his second book he removed it....
Unless there are before pictures I'm betting it's a nice job of taking a cooler
embossing and welding it in... great for a 7up collector. There was another
at Chicago last year too...

I would rather have the 34 Ford. I think it might be a repro not a restoration. Look closely at the crank handle.

The coin mech is a Home arcade repop coin mech and so is the bottle rack. Someone has found an empty cabnet and had nothing else better to do but make a fake 44. What a shame.

If you remember there was a 44shell on ebay that was
cheap but needed some work to it .
Also someone had done this to a 44 and made it a Vernors
and they did a good job on it from the photo's This was two years back .
But back to this 7Up 44 it is a good job.

I guess if you don't care for originality and you love 7up... Go for it... Kinda like the Orange Crush Vendo 81 I saw the other day... looked awesome but of course the guy swears it's original, but of course wouldn't even think cracking it open for me to take a look a it... I told him if he ever wants to sell it he will have to have some photos of the inside.

The cynic in me read the details and noted he doesn't state it is original, nor does he state it's a fantasy machine. And what does a '34 Ford go for? I am thinking 5 figures. I need to stop thinking.
It's a beautiful machine, but I wouldn't offer 16k for it unless I lknoew it was actually worth 16,000.
