Title: Vmc 88 comes home!!!! Post by: loman4ec on March 18, 2006, 08:09:50 pm Well today I took a road trip to Joey's (Coke_and_stuff) House to pick up the VMC 88. I had a great time and I couldn't be more happy. I really kicked myself when I sold the last one and I know I have said that alot but I missed that machine more than any I have had. I really like the 88's. And I really am not a Coke drinker so a Pepsi machine is great for me. I swear I mean it this time when I say this machine is a keeper. Joey has a really nice collection. And I have to say my jaw did a when I saw the Pepsi 81. I know you all have seen pics of this machine before but I have to show some more. Thanks again Joey. I really appreciate all that you have done.

Post by: coke_and_stuff on March 18, 2006, 09:13:01 pm I was actually going to leave it as is for now and use it but a good friend is actually excited about doing it and will be going to the sandblaster in the next few weeks.
Joey Title: Vmc 88 comes home!!!! Post by: Creighton on March 18, 2006, 09:23:00 pm It will be a show stopper restored!! Could I trouble you to take some pics of the side bottle cap graphics. Great realism and 3D effect on those.

I am so excited to get started on the 88. I was going to wait a while but I don't think I will be able to. I started to sand a little on the white paint but it is alot thicker than I thought. Here are some more pics. What a cool machine. Thanks again Joey.

Creighton Title: Vmc 88 comes home!!!! Post by: loman4ec on March 19, 2006, 12:27:14 am It could be but I was trying to get through to the blue to see if I could leave it that way for a little while dispensing budweiser in the shop. I thought the white would just be spray paint and would come off easy but it is really thick.
Title: Vmc 88 comes home!!!! Post by: loman4ec on March 19, 2006, 05:13:59 pm Well since this machien has some rust I decided to go to home depot and buy some can primer to help slow the rust a little untill I decide to restore the machine. While I was there I decided why spray primer when I can just buy blue and possibly make it look a little better than off white. I found a good color blue made by rustoleum and taped everything off and started spraying. It really looks rather good. Not show quality or anywhere close to something I would put in my liveing room but it does look better than off white. I then used my DA sander and lightly sanded through the blue to the white below. The pics do look a little better than in person but it is good enough to fill with beer.
Title: Vmc 88 comes home!!!! Post by: coke_and_stuff on March 19, 2006, 08:58:03 pm Looks like a totally different machine, a good cheap way to enjoy it until a restoration can be done. Did you get it cooling?
