Title: Old vendo 35 - would you buy it?
Post by: on March 12, 2006, 11:19:47 am
Hello - My name is Mike Tyler and I restore antique jukes. Recently, I saw this for sale local and was wondering what it might be worth. Can be had cheap enough, any chance any of you know can confirm what model it is? I think its either a Vendo 35 or a Westinghouse.

TIA!

Hello Mike,
Welcome aboard!

That sure does look like a Vendo 35.
Offer the guy $50 bucks, it should be well worth that. If nothing else you could part it out for more than that.

Someone here had something similar that they had retrieved from a swamp where it sat for years  and bought it back to life. Anything is possible. I'd jump at it for $50.00

With that cap catcher on top, I think it is a Vendo 59 Standard.

Hi Mike,
If the machine is a spin top - check to ensure the drum in place.  Not sure; but I suspect the internals for this machine may be hard to find if they are missing.

BTW The 1468 you restored is spinning records and sounding great!  I Just finished a 222 and have it up for sale locally also.

Welcome to the group,

JP White

Looks like a Vendo 59 standard to me as well. The 35 used a different cap catcher. If it is complete it books for 350.00 average condition. The drums are usually missing on the inside.

Thanks Sodaworks, and thanks for all the replys. Am pretty sure this can be bought for $50 but I am still unsure I am ready and have the space for another project.

will have to pass on the B, I have too many right now and have to manage space carefully.

Hey JP - glad to hear the R1468 is still playing tunes. I have several collectable boxes in storage now and hope to return to them after I finish restoring this old 72' Cuda I bought.

A a proud owner of a Vendo 59 , I concure that is what it is.  I got mine out of a swamp and converted it to a Texas Holdem poker table.  I could not restore it.  It was too far gone.   Give him the fifty bucks and get on with your adventure.
