Title: Painting inner cabinet
Post by: TheGarbageHunter on March 06, 2006, 10:03:35 pm
What is an alternative to sandblasting in preping shelves and most important inner cabinet prior to painting w/hammerit silver. DA sander?? 80 grit then 220?? If so how far down should one go??

Thanks

I just clean and scuff. It really requires little prep.

High pressure wash and SOS pad will work. Then stuff with 220.

I was going to do the same, but I tried CLR first and the trays and cabinet look band new, about 15min soak time a piece, mixed 50/50 with water. :;):

I have never tried CLR, I'll have to try it out. I usually beadblast everything. ???
