Title: Http:// posting broke?? Post by: Creighton on February 05, 2006, 11:53:49 pm Tried to post a http link to some banjo/bagpipe jokes and no joy. Strange, links always worked before. If I'm not allowed all of a sudden fine, just need to know. Confused...

No one has altered your posting rights. Did you receive an error message...? Can you supply a few details as to the process you went through and what happened... Title: Http:// posting broke?? Terry - do you remember when last week? Jim - I wonder if all of this happened when I had the searching problem I told you about? Title: Http:// posting broke?? Post by: sodaworks on February 06, 2006, 05:50:50 pm I cannot recall but it was about a week ago.
Title: Http:// posting broke?? Post by: Creighton on February 06, 2006, 06:00:50 pm Never could get the http:// dialog box to open. Seems to work fine now.
Thanks, Creighton Title: Http:// posting broke?? Post by: Kilroy on February 06, 2006, 07:03:10 pm It's also possible the web site you are trying to link from has blocked external linking (though it's doubtful banjo jokes are in the Google top 10 searches):P Some consider it bandwidth theft, and I have seen some mighty nasty stuff pop up instead of the page that was linked.
Edit: hmmm, Jim, when I tried to click on ..well any smilieys of to the right, I received this error message: The Page you're seeking is considered "Not Available" at this time; perhaps you misspelled the URL. You might try retyping the URL again. I blame 'kito (since he's not here) Title: Http:// posting broke?? Post by: Jim on February 06, 2006, 08:38:14 pm Kilroy,
The smileys at the bottom of the Quick Reply Box cause the error...? OR The smileys in the dialog box displayed after clicking "View All Emoticons" cause this error...? This error I haven't heard from anyone as of yet... Title: Http:// posting broke?? Post by: Kilroy on February 06, 2006, 09:02:24 pm Sorry Jim, My bad
In hindsight, my post with all the emtoie kookiness was the first time in ages where I used the "add Post" button instead of Quick Post underneath the last posting. Throw in using FireFox, and NoScript, and um well, I had to enable java scripting to run @ soda-machines.com. Funny it never cropped up using the quick post option, and clicking on the Emoticons link under the post window. Feh, I'll ponder it tomorrow at work. Title: Http:// posting broke?? Post by: Creighton on February 06, 2006, 11:37:52 pm Thanks for the input Kilroy! Thought about that, but couldn't even get a dialog box so it wasn't an issue with content/source. I'm putting it in the random Windows breakage folder. Pretty big folder at this point in time :-)
