One sold in Indiana on Jan 7th At DANA Auction (www.danaauction.com) for $1550 (It was the one VET bought) and he's now asking for $4 grand plus some change for it which it may be worth..... not enough have popped
up and sold to pin point a good price. Heck.... where you located... it may be him...

So it is worth as much as what that one sold for... $1550.00....

Judging by the photos on the thread started by USMC Vet, it's his machine.  The crooked yellow sticker is the same.

Good Wayne, that sticker and the rust in the cup holder looked all too familliar.

Is the Serial number WP740M
If so... it's his.

I wish he'd just put it on eBay... That would be the best place for it.... I bet he'd be surprised what he could get.

Then we would ALL know what a Lyon 500 is worth.

DejaVu.... :suspect:  If I was an appraiser, which I'm not,, but if I were, I would appraise it at $ 1550.00. Based on my recent and extensive research.

They may be.... and if they are we all need to head towards Indiana.
Where were these things produced?... Just like Quikold made in Ohio
I would think they'd be everywhere there.... Anyone?....

Josh... don't mess with me I'm in my 40s now and my heart can't take that kind of kidd'n....
I'll send you my wish list (basicly a Pepsi double dot and 7up standard with
embossed you like it - it likes you on either side of the front embossed logo,
2 lid, non-electric cooler)

Now turn your magnet towards Ohio and let me know! :)

I think it is the same.  Look at the pics Dr posted.  Look at the bottom left edge of the chrome strip below where the cup sits...they have the same white spot.  They have the same black mark in the rectangle just below what I think is the coin slot, and I think the left side panel (looking straight on) on both sticks out a little bit.  The top of the yellow label is curling on both.

We have to ask ourselves...is this really that big of a deal? I think not? Lets not tear the cloth that binds us here :alien:  Let sleeping dogs lay...if not...shoot-em'. Think all posts on this subject should disappear. No place for this here,,just my 2-cents worth. Just silly I think.

Eric, The quikolds that I usually see in Ohio are late 60's and 70's junk. I have never found anything worth buying or else I would have it already. I know you are looking for the early quikolds and you get any of them that I find.

Right Chaps here's the deal

This Friday the European Lottery will stand at 170 million dollars (or thereabouts) if I am the lucky winner I will buy that Lyon and put all your names in the hat and draw someone out.

Blimey if I win the lottery I'll buy you all your favourite machine and deliver it personally. Jasmine - I'll book Journey for a personal concert just for you in your back garden.

So keep your fingers crossed for me. Vetman too... you'll get your four roundtops.

Dave

That would be great.

I hope you buy your self a warehouse and start your own collection of machines, arcade games and jukes. Good luck.

Good luck on the lottery Dave. I have never played but I calculate my chances of winning are only slightly less than someone who actually does play.  I will be putting a Vendo Decapper on the wish list for when you win.

Well if it's Vet's... I truly hope he gets what he needs out of it... And it'll be nice to
see what one actually will bring... Ebay, I think would be the best... But here's some
advice to whoever is placing it on eBay... Also put VENDO VMC in the title... Those
that collect are always looking for Vendos or the VMCs but often we forget or don't even
think of looking for something as rare.... It will bring more hits....
To Whoever owns it...Best Of Luck.... I'll be watching.

Its not my "cup of tea" (well known saying in motherland not sure if it translates too well across the seas)
but ay the best man win on the Lyon.

"Not my cup of tea" is a well known saying.

The Lyon is doing well so far.
