Title: Shop distractions Post by: sodaworks on January 19, 2006, 03:45:49 pm This isn't really soda related other than it is usually the reason that I close my shop for the day. It's my granddaughter Kiylee. For her 4th B-day in Nov. she wanted a motorcycle of her own so whats a Grandpa to do? I bought her a honda CRF50 and made her some training wheels. In the picture attched she is performing a Nac-Nac over a jump on my RC track.
Title: Shop distractions Post by: sodaworks on January 19, 2006, 03:51:47 pm Here's a photo of her helmet. Believe it or not when we were shopping for her helmet she picked out this one. My wife tried to get her to get a different one but she wasn't leaving the store without this one. She now has several sets of riding gear with the same motif.
Title: Shop distractions Post by: Jim on January 19, 2006, 09:19:23 pm Terry,
I can only look with envy as I'm in the process of dealing with my Home Owners Assoc. for a skateboard halfpipe I'm almost finished building... Due to a person complaining for noise which ONLY occurred one time right after the kids and I finished screwing down the first layer of plywood and skated for about an hour, the Assoc. is requiring me to remove the ramp from my backyard! AArrrGGGG... Enjoy the riding with family ! ! ! Title: Shop distractions Post by: sodaworks on January 19, 2006, 11:00:52 pm We too are on HOA. I am on the board, it has its +- though. The good thing is our neighborhood consist of 22 lots that range from 2.0 to 5 acres in size, so we are fortunate that we are not on top of each other.
Title: Shop distractions Post by: BrianB on January 20, 2006, 06:50:53 am That's awesome Terry! That helmet is outta control You'd think she'd want Dora The Explorer or pink or something a little more "girlie". Guess that goes to show, right when you think you have "women" figured out........
Title: Shop distractions Post by: bubba on January 20, 2006, 07:18:35 am That is very cool Terry.... I'd love to have a dirt track in the yard for the kids... They get bored after awhile riding around the yard in circles.. In NJ, most types of motor sports are frowned upon. We have no legal public trails. There is one or 2 pay to play places that are horrible. I'm on 2 acres and the kids just ride around the yard. My next door neighbor has a hotline to the PD, and I've gotten to know them all pretty good in the past 2 years. None of the other neighbors complain, and the cops say there is nothing she can do about it, so they keep riding . Mine is pretty loud, so I've stopped riding that one in the yard unless someone wants to give it a spin or I do some work to it and need to test it. In the snow is a different story though....
Title: Shop distractions Post by: sodaworks on January 20, 2006, 11:04:21 pm Neighbors here are pretty kicked backed. We live in the simi-country (out of the city but 3 minutes to the store). Kiylee has taken over my RC track where we run remote control nitro trucks. Neighbors don't complain about the nitro burners either. I guess I got it pretty good.
Title: Shop distractions Post by: sodaworks on January 20, 2006, 11:08:45 pm Nice quad's Bubba,
We currently have 9 dirt bikes and I'm going to pick up a new Honda TRX 450 quad very soon. I am thinking about getting back into racing. Title: Shop distractions Post by: jasmine64 on January 21, 2006, 09:18:48 am My neighbors are cool ...so far. They are elderly and any thing that goes on out side sometime provide entertainment for them.
My daughter has ridden her dirt bike in the yard, driven my neighbors old mail truck around and we've had so many swim parties, bon fires, halloween parties and fireworks going on around here I just call them and let them know whats going on first. Many times they have joined us on the patio to supervise. If anyone of them ever sells and move, who knows what neighbors we'd get then. Title: Shop distractions Post by: bubba on January 21, 2006, 10:46:31 am Those 450's are nice, but too much power for me... I would definately get hurt on something that big... My buddy has a yfz that is totally modded out, and I hate riding it.. the power is awesome, but you are constantly fighting to keep it under control. Mine is a 250x running high compression, bigger carb and a few others... I can ride all day long without getting tired.. It'll jump, wheelie and it'll do donuts.. It keeps up with another buddies tweaked 300ex... One day I plan on getting rid of it and grabbing a Z400... thats about as much power as I need.
For the first few years in my house, I was considered the A*hole next door. Everyone has one of those neighbors.. I've mellowed out a bit, and most of the neighbors have gotten used to me, and now a few of them are worse than I am |
