Title: Seeburg  machine, something different!
Post by: johnieG on January 17, 2006, 12:13:31 pm
here's an auction for what looks like an NOS (New-old-Stock),or at least never used Seeburg Coffee vendor, this machine looks mint! Notice that the lids are still taped down on the product hoppers, & not a scratch on the faceplate, coin-bezel, & the delivery door is crystal clear, also note the bag of install parts still attached to the inside of the loading area, Yea, I know it's not a soda machine, but I think it's still another neat way to get your caffene!

Wow.  When I was a kid (in the 70's) our Giant Food Store (grocery store) had two of these machines.  One served sodas (pre-mix stuff in a cup) and the other served coffee.  The coffee one even had a soup selection.  Every time my brother and I went to the store with our mom, we got a soda.  I think it was about a quarter for a cup.  After getting involved in machines the past few years, I often wondered what type was in that grocery store (it's since moved) and now the question is answered.  Thanks johnie!:)

Does anyone know how this machine works? What kind of coffee it uses? Is it special or do these just take ginds? Are the cups available or are they special and hard to find.

Chances are this machine would take 7 or 8 1/4 ounce cups. Which are readily available through a vending products distributer. I have connections so if someone wins this and can't find the cups anywhere let me know and I'll see what I can do. I am not real familiar with the Seeburg coffee, as they were mostly out of the field when I started in vending, but there would only be 2 different kinds of coffee used, the most common would be loose ground coffee, coffee used in vending is a special grind but for a machine, that doesn't get used much you may be able to get by with standard coffee found at a grocery store. The other coffee used in vending occasionally would be freeze dried. This machine looks like it would be a loose ground machine, but I am not positive.

That's one clean machine. I wish I could find machines this clean. :)

It just occured to me this is a loose ground machine, it has the second waste pail for the used grounds.

If it were local to me it would be in my shop serving coffee. 500 miles is just too far to get it.

Bob, you have no idea! For starters, it's a vending machine, Secondly, it's in mint condition and thirdly it's a Seeburg!

I wonder if I could shove a M100B mech inside and get it to play 45's while is serves coffee........ :D
