Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: timsmore on January 14, 2006, 03:43:19 pm The HUGE, approx 1000 page, manual has been picked apart and this is what I have. Individaul sections and information include the following. I found the in depth information on the theory of refrigeration unique for sure. Pictures, diagrams, schematics it's all there. If what I have is close to something you need let me know and I will double check that I didn't miss something. As questions are asked I will edit this section below so that becomes more and more clear as to the contents of the manual.

Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: Pat Pixley on March 02, 2006, 11:27:13 pm Tim, please putme down for 1,2,6&10 and on cd would work for me.
I will p.m. with my address and please let me know what I will owe you. Thanks Pat Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: jasmine64 on March 03, 2006, 09:41:56 am What type of scanner are you using?
I know that there is a face-up book scanner on the market that will scan pages and evens out any page scanned. (EX curved page shows it flat) Beats the heck out of a desktop computer scanner. I think Minolta has some. Ebay has them all the time. Not a large selection but a few. My states Archive and History uses one for research projects. Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: timsmore on March 03, 2006, 12:25:01 pm Here in my office I have HP 9100C Digital Sender. It will even do color. I've been told the cost is around $4,000. Yes, I would like to thank the tax payers, which includes me for this awesome machine.
Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: timsmore on March 06, 2006, 06:36:20 pm Just a quick update to show the stack now that I have finished the last section. I will now organize and repost what is in each of the criss cross stacks. This is how I scanned it into the individual .pdf files.

Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: timsmore on March 07, 2006, 12:01:28 am Scanning of the MANUSCRIPT is complete!!!
1289 pages total. It will be $10.00 a section. This way you don't have to get what you may not need. I'm just hoping to get close to the $175.00 I have in so my wife won't kill me. (I don't own any of these machines) If you have already sent a check let me know what it is you would like sent. Most internet providers now I believe will let up to 10 megs to be sent. The complete manual came to just about 80 megs. I have no problem putting any of these or all on a CD and mailing at no extra charge. Let me know and I will have them coiming through the internet or to a mailbox ASAP. Money orders or checks but will have to wait until they clear. I hope this helps a lot of you out and maybe, just maybe, someday I will own one of these classic machines! of his CD to me . Some reason I never got the copy from TIM and he only got back to me once, and that was the last I heard from him ... SO thank you Creighton for helping us out. Talk to you later Pat Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: Jim on June 09, 2006, 12:40:07 pm Hello all,
Things have been a little busy around my house the last month... With that said, I have to apologize for not being around as much as I would have liked... I will be uploading some sample documents up to the Soda Jerk Section over the next week in the hopes of making information available. As we move forward with this, I would like feedback on organization of materials, errors I've made or any other input to aid in making this easy to navigate and acquire the information... Thanks Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: dr galaga on June 09, 2006, 01:19:48 pm I was thinking that there could be one pinned topic that had a list (with links) of the different manuals and other items arranged by manufacturer. As people put items up on their accounts, or have to remove them, they could reply to the pinned message. An Administrator changes the information in the pinned message and deletes the reply. This way we don't have a message that is 10 pages long! (I guess I'm volunteering for this)
Is the plan still to try to get members to store the manuals wherever they have some space so it is not hogging the available space at SMC? Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: BryanH on June 09, 2006, 07:05:29 pm Well if you want... I went through all Tim's PDF's and removed duplicate pages, resorted pages that were out of order and combined/split files to keep pages from a machine being split across files. I don't have room to post them anywhere but would be happy to share them to save other <anal> members from having to do the same effort.
I also gave Tim a list of pages missing... If he gets those rescanned (I think he's in the middle of moving) I'll integrate them into the docs also. Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: bubba on June 09, 2006, 07:46:08 pm If storage is an issue, I can make an ftp site available to upload and store manuals and other info... I have 2 sites for my company that are just small websites, with huge storage. Bandwidth wouldn't be an issue either. I can setup a ftp account to upload, and I can password the directory so its only available to who you want to give access to. I don't know if I can set individual accounts though--- Its not a ftp server, just a webhost. I do plan some day soon to get my ftp server back online also.
Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: dr galaga on June 09, 2006, 08:17:04 pm That's nice of you Ken. I'm sure some of the gang will take you up on the offer. I was looking around and came across Yahoo's Briefcase. It offers up to 30MB of storage. Looks like we may not need this now, but just wondering if anyone has used it before.
Title: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: Creighton on June 09, 2006, 09:08:52 pm I have a storage space if need be. The problem I see, is unless there is backup somewhere the information could be lost, broken links etc... Say I have manual A on server B and reconfigure/shutdown server B. Manual A is gone.
I would be more than happy to contribute funds to increase storage space here on SMC. We could also run a mirror site so that the "eggs are not in one basket". Creighton Title: Re: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: burnt mind on January 09, 2013, 07:29:27 pm Tim

Any questions just ask. Creighton Title: Re: Manuals manuals manuals Post by: Creighton on January 10, 2013, 12:27:03 am Tim be long gone from the board. I have no idea where my CD's may be. Tom may still have copies. They were not all that great to start with.
