Title: Fairground funfair Post by: Ginger Prince on December 29, 2005, 07:44:18 pm Well, eventually managed to compress my image to an
acceptable format. Now cannot take things for granted but maybe getting the hang of this. Please see attached image of my latest ebay auction item on the ebay.co.uk site. I have always liked Funfair and Fairground stuff. I am looking for a full size 1950's bumper car. This is a small 1960's kids dodgem I am letting go of, just cleaned up not restored, but OK. Are their any collectors/dealers that trade in fairground and in particular, dodgem/speedway stock in the US or Canada or do any of my fellows collect/trade in this category? Any input would be greatly appreciated by the prince, regards Ginger Title: Fairground funfair Post by: jasmine64 on December 29, 2005, 09:59:41 pm Cool, where do you store it?

Title: Fairground funfair Post by: sodaworks on December 30, 2005, 03:31:05 pm LOL @ Glen!!!! I know a guy here locally that has the original bumper cars from the Santa Monica pier. They appeared in several movies as well as the opening credits of the sitcom "Three's Company" with the late John Ritter. He sells them for around 500.00 bucks I think. I have a 1941 carnival "kiddie car" that looks like a nash/hudson. I is made out of cast aluminum and weighs around 250#. It was pulled around in circles on a tether, simular to a carosel.

It went for £215GBP, [ although sad to see it go at least I got a pretty good return on my money.] [Dave , for your information the reserve was £175GBP] Terry, the car looks a real neat item, not sure about your intended colour scheme, but lets se some pix when it's done. I am still after that full size dodgem, so if any members have any ideas then please post, kind regards Ginger |
